FOTD: Fresh faced with Sweet Honey pigment from Shiro cosmetics!

Sweet Honey eyes! I've been really getting into neutral and softer brown eye looks recently! For the last month I've been digging back into my brown shades and neutral stash of shadows. I had made a big order of sample sized pigments from Shirocosmetics.com but until now I haven't use any of them and it's been a while. I wanted a super easy look that I could do quickly and chose the shade "Sweet Honey" for starters!

Food: Home made Tom Yum Seafood soup!

Home made Tom Yum Goong soup! How many of you are like me, love food, all types of food and especially fresh, tasty and very hearty food? I'm a giant fan of thai food, I would love to live in thailand just for the amazingly fresh, tasty, flavor bursting and wide variety of dishes! One of the most famous thai dishes is Tom Yum soup. The two most known is the regular watery tom yum soup and the creamy thicker one which uses coconut cream.

Here I have made the regular, classic tom yum goong soup! You can use all kinds of seafood and additional ingredients like fishcakes, fish balls, meat balls, vegetables and sliced meats!

Holiday Special: Day 2 in Aonang Krabi Thailand!

Day 2 in Krabi, Thailand! No, I'm no longer on holiday but went on a beautiful and special one about three weeks ago with my boyfriend! It was our first together and we chose to go near by to Krabi, Thailand for a beach holiday! We stayed at a hotel in the Aonang area in Krabi, our week was full of food, sun, walking, visiting shops and beach island hopping on long boats!

Check out my post for my first day on holiday in Krabi here! Day 2 can be summarized by saying that we spent the day at the beach, visted a giant 'mini' mart and then booked a scuba diving trip for the next day!

Review: Catrice Defining Blush in 010 Toffee Fairy!

Toffee Fairy for you? Yes, it's a cute name! And yes, it's such an affordable blush! Ever since Catrice became available in the local pharmacy here in Singapore called Guardian I've been raiding their display for blushes, powders, foundations and eyeshadows! Basically trying all of their make up! I'm very glad to report that I've bought every shade except two which I don't like from the single blush range found in store! Check out my first Catrice haul here!

Do check out my reviews of the shades 050 Apricot (here), 060 Rosewood Forest (here) and 020 Rose Royce (here)!

Spring Inspired eyes with Urban Decay Deluxe shadows! (Gourmet burger lunch)

Pastel spring eyes and burgers! What better time to wear pastels and pale shades than in the first half of the year! I was gifted the most beautiful colorful Urban Decay Deluxe shadow palette from Pam from Jade in the Palace Blog during a gift swap last year and I pulled it out for this gently colorful look!

It was a late lunch date again with my boyfriend and this time we decided to try a 'gourmet' burger joint along the infamous East Coast Rd that's full of shop houses! It was one of the most delicious burger lunches I've had in the last year!

Rave review: Rimmel Stay Matte liquid mousse foundation in 200 Soft Beige!

Stay Matte Mousse! Finally, on a sudden urge and also after searching on blogs for swatches for the best match I ordered this much raved about mousse foundation from Asos.com! Rimmel used to have a full display at some Watsons outlets in Singapore but I haven't seen the display for the last year and think maybe it's pulled out? Not 100% sure but I can't wait to find out so I'm ordering!

This mousse foundation from their "Stay Matte" line claims to give good coverage and keep your skin matte which is something a lot of us combination/oily skin girls want!

Note: I have currently repurchased this product in the shade 103 True Ivory! It's a better match for my current skin tone! I have gotten quite fair the last few months!

Empties for March 2014!

Empties time! March was an amazing month for empties for me! I've been steadily finishing face scrubs, washes, conditioners and lots of face masks and body washes! My goal is to finish up any extra back up purchases I have stored away so that I can free up space to buy new products to try!

March has been the first month of many where I've really tried to use more face masks over night to refresh my skin! I've been going through my assorted box of masks from The Face Shop and they have been awesome!

Rave Review: The Face Shop Volcanic Clay Blackhead Aloe nose strip!

Aloe nose strip! Most of us suffer from clogged pores especially in the nose region, if not your nose then usually around the nose! I've been using nose pore strips from Biore since I was 13  and they are my favorite brand as over the years I've developed my technique of application so they work miracles for me compared to what I hear from some of my girlfriends.

When casually shopping around in The Face Shop I saw this and a few variations and decided to pick this Aloe one up! There was another one with charcoal and another regular one however I thought Aloe would be a nice alternative to try! I didn't think this would be fantastic as a lot of products in The Face Shop just only do the job but holy crap, I was wrong!

FOTD: Smokey walnut brown eyes with MUA's Undressed palette!

Pretty, girly, walnut brown eyes! Nope, I'm not talking about the color of my eyes though, I'm talking about brown eyeshadows! I don't know about you ladies but neutral shadows hasn't been my go to shadows or looks because for the last year and a half with my culinary school course and apprenticeship make up is not needed. Hence all the times you've seen my make up looks were days out!

I am a giant fan of neutrals but they need to be shimmery! I just love shimmery shades to death, it brings so much depth and the sparkle is just so eye catching! This is what I came up with using my very loved MUA Undressed palette for a fun simple day out!

Holiday Special: Day 1 in Aonang Krabi Thailand!

Day 1 in Krabi, Thailand! For all of you who aren't aware, I went away on a 5 day holiday to Krabi in southern Thailand for a much deserved and awaited beach holiday with my dearest boyfriend! After much thinking we decided on Krabi, Thailand for a super affordable and adventurous choice! It's really close to Singapore too!

I had plans since more than a year ago for some type of beach holiday and initially we were going to go away in June or July but he was finished with his work attachment from school and I cleared my leave at work and so we decided the time was right!

Skincare review: L'oreal Skin Perfection 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil!

15 Second Miracle? Are you just like and get tempted and allured by the lovely claims of all the new products coming out on the market?! I've been using the same bi-facil eye make up remover for the last two years from L'oreal and I know where to get it locally really cheap and it just melts off my holy grail mascara!

However I ran out a month ago and didn't get to buy it. I've been using my other make up remover gels and oils and the only other product that worked as amazingly was from Shu Uemura. Then I was in store two weeks ago and had to chance to get this cleansing oil at a $10 discount and jumped at it!

Review: Catrice Pure Shine Colour Lip Balm in 030 Don't Think Just Pink!

Don't Think, Just Pink! Lip product time! I've been doing some real progress on my promise to myself to use more lip products. I may own a decent bunch of lipsticks, colored balms and glosses but last year I really barely touched any of them! After making a conscious decision every time I did my make up to try to use even a very light lip product now I can proudly say that I'm back into using lip products!

This was sent to me from Pam from Jade in the Palace beauty blog as part of a year end beauty gift swap last year! She sent me an amazing package and this was one of the lovely bits inside!

The Face Shop skincare haul! Last month before I went for my beach holiday I walked into The Face Shop and just ended up walking out with a few skin care bits! Review: Sunkiller BB Perfect Strong SPF 50!

Sunkiller BB cream! Besides good coverage that matches and looks flawless up close the most important thing about what we put on our faces should be sunblock. Buying a foundation or base product with SPF or wearing a sunblock beneath with protection factor is very important to prevent pigmentation and long term skin damage as well as wrinkles and dryness.

While I was browsing the pharmacy with my mother about a month back looking for a sunblock to bring on my Krabi Thailand beach trip I came across this! A Japanese brand called "Sunkiller" with several sunblocks and this one that's a BB sunblock! There was no tester but I just couldn't resist it!

Review: Maybelline colorsensational Bold Matte and NeoNude lipsticks!

Bold Matte and Neo Nude! For all of us ladies who like lip products and for those who are lipstick lovers I'm sure you're very familiar with the maybelline color sensational lipstick line! These two lipstick lines were released in Singapore last year and within the Bold and Nude lines there are 4 shades with some new releases this year.

Although I really don't wear lipstick more than 2 times a month I couldn't resist and picked up two of the bolder and nude shades! I had swatched a lot of them in store and they were so gorgeous!

Food post: Things I ate for the month of March!

Delicious asian food! All I've been craving the last few months have been asian dishes. Noodles, fried rice, tofu, stir fries! It's not as if I don't eat asian food every day or at least once a day in some form, food or drink but I'm just such a lover of the cuisine in general from Chinese, Thai, Indian, Japanese...all types of asian food I love!

I don't have as many photos of the food I ate during March but here's a good solid bunch of the best things I had. I also made a couple meals at home which I want to share below!

Review: ItCosmetics Hello Lashes 5-in-1 Mascara!

Hello Lashes! For some reason why are women always looking for the next best thing to make what we have 100X more or better looking even though we are happy healthy people without them? For me mascara is one of these things and I'm so happy to have this little sucker!

This very exciting little guy was sent to me from a blogger friend of mine Pam from Jade in the Palace beauty blog and she included it in a huge swap package we did for each other last year for Christmas! Check out what she got me here!

On first impressions I was so excited because the brush looks amazing and a lot like the Benefit's Their Real mascara which I really want to get. I already am very soulfully satisfied with my holy grail and still my very holy grail mascara the Kiss Me Heroine Long & Curl mascara! However I'm very open to trying mascaras that give me definition and length which I need over volume!

Skincare: The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Rice Bran Cleansing Foam!

Rice Bran cleansing foam! I'm a fan of products using extracts or natural ingredients like vegetables, fruits and other things like such. Being chinese I've been told by so many fellow family members and hear about how rice, rice water, rice milk are used and how they can help. Personally I do enjoy using things with 'natural' ingredients although I know they are only garnishing the main ingredients most of the time.

While browsing The Face Shop some time back, I was just strictly looking at the skin care and decided that since I was almost done using up all my cleansers I though I'd get this rice bran foaming cleanser to try!

Review: Catrice Skin Finish Compact Powder in 031 Warm Beige!

Skin Finish Compact Powder! Everybody needs powder, maybe unless you suffer from very dry skin a good powder as a foundation or for setting your base is so basic and needed in any make up collection. For those who don't wear sunblock having SPF in your foundation or powder is a good replacement.

Here, I've picked up a very sheer coverage powder for everyday use. There are only a few shades in this range but they are so sheer it's easy to blend them out to match most pale to medium skin tones!

FOTD: Purple bronze sunrise look! (Lunch date at Rabbit Carrot Gun)

Lunch date Sunday and purple bronze eyes! Don't we all need a day off and day out sometimes? After so many months of work and school, the last few months have been the best in terms of me balancing and organizing my free time to go out and try out new places, food or relaxing!

I don't always get the weekend off but since I had a Sunday off I knew I had to go out for a lovely lunch along East Coast in Singapore where the most indie, yummy cafes and restaurants seem to be at! My boyfriend and I have been eyeing this place called "Rabbit Carrot Gun", it seems very lodge like, serving western fare and we finally had the time and the day to try it out!
