15 Second Miracle? Are you just like and get tempted and allured by the lovely claims of all the new products coming out on the market?! I've been using the same bi-facil eye make up remover for the last two years from L'oreal and I know where to get it locally really cheap and it just melts off my holy grail mascara!
However I ran out a month ago and didn't get to buy it. I've been using my other make up remover gels and oils and the only other product that worked as amazingly was from Shu Uemura. Then I was in store two weeks ago and had to chance to get this cleansing oil at a $10 discount and jumped at it!

Packaging!
In a very sleek rectangular bottle is very attractive! I really like how all three of l'oreal's new make up removers are different colors, different bottles and different types! A cleansing oil, micellar water and foaming wash! The bottle is very simply and well labelled. You get 150 ml which is a very decent size but is quite expensive for a drugstore brand and 150ml of product.
I quite like the pump, it's very easy to use and you don't get too much product when you press. It's easy to control and you can even get a half pump or part of a pump of product very easily too.
There's really no downside to this packaging although I believe the pump could be improved with a turn and lock secure mechanism which would make this much better for traveling. If you loose the cap you wouldn't have to worry about the product accidentally being pumped out either! Otherwise if you're careful I won't be afraid of the product leaking.

Product!
For a product that claims so much, from being able to melt off waterproof make up in 15 seconds without rubbing and being suitable for all skin types and being non greasy, I was definitely holding my bar of expectation quite high! I didn't even take a smell or feel of the tester in store as I was so happy that I could get it $10 off I just really wanted to try one of the 3 new make up removers from L'oreal to try!
First off, this is of a very light feeling oil, not very greasy and more gel than oil feeling. There's a lovely slightly perfumed smell to the product that isn't strong. This removes regular eye make up very easily with one pump and no water on the skin. I found that this can remove waterproof mascara as it claims but only if it was a light/ normal coat.
However with my usual very heavy and dramatic coat of super waterproof mascara this cannot do the job. I will need 2-3 pumps (one pump at a time) and lots of gentle rubbing over 3 minutes to remove the mascara from one eye! This doesn't make the product bad nor does it mean it doesn't do what it claims, it's just that it doesn't remove my mascara of choice easily and that's an issue for me.
As I do all my make up removal usually in the shower, I wash my face with my face wash after make up removal and hence I don't feel any grease. However the greasiness from the oil really is almost all gone when washed with water. Lastly, one of the most important things is that there is no sting in the eyes when this gets into the eyes and your vision gets only a touch blurry before washing your eyes with water clears it up!

The new display at a small Watsons! There was a deal that you'd get $9.90 off any of the three if you bought another make up product! |
The cleansing oil is $19.90 ($15.90 USD) , the micellar water is $17.90 ($14.30 USD) and the foaming wash is $15.90 ($12.70 USD)! |
Paid: $19.90 SGD (I got it in a special deal at a discount of $9.90!) or about $15.90 USD
Recommend: Yes! This formula is gentle, beautifully scented and does what it claims! However if you wear very thick, waterproof mascara this might not take it off in 15 seconds, let along 2 minutes or with a few drops! Do check this out, it's very great to use and has no sting in the eyes!
Repurchase: No, not because this isn't a good product but because I'm very eager to try other cleansing oils/micellar waters! This is a very good product!
Bottom line: Straightforward, does what it claims, this smells heavenly, feels light and removes almost all eye make up very easily. If you do wear very thick and waterproof mascara this might not work for you, otherwise it's definitely a formula to try!
Do you prefer cleansing oils or micellar water?
Tried this from L'oreal?
Let me know!
Feel free to comment!
Thank you so much!
Wow that is one powerful eyeliner! I like the sound of this product not being overly greasy, which is an issue I have with oils. Even if it means it's more effective, it just feels really 'gross' when I use them haha.
ReplyDeleteThis seems alright for me, as I don't wear waterproof mascara often. :)
Thanks for the review!

This looks so good - I normally use a dualphase remover for my eyes and an oil like this all over my face, so this would be great for me!
ReplyDeleteI use a micellar water most of the time! However, I do enjoy cleansing oils when my skin is really dry in the winter.
