Special: Day out to Universal Studios Singapore!

Castles, rides and toy shops! Nothing brings out the inner joy and child in most of us like a good day out to a theme park like Universal Studios. In Singapore, this single theme park is located on sentosa island which is the south of singapore which can be reached either by a bus, from a mono rail train ride or by sky luge. Some months back my lovely friend and I had a chance and we both went to the park together! We spend a whole day from morning till night ending with a delicious dinner at chilli's after our long day at the park!

Day out: Admiring pastries at MBS, visiting the Hermes exhibition and a Thai meal at Bugis!

Day about town with a gal pal! Here is a post of a totally fun and girly day out. We spent time at Singapore's famous 'Shoppes' at Marina Bay Sands just looking around, window shopping, making comments, looking at pretty cakes and so on. We ended up having a really filling tea time break before my girlfriend brought me to check out a free exhibition by Hermes and then to Bugis (which everyone knows about and has gone to but me) where we checked out lots of the shops and had a delicious Thai meal!

Blue to Green gradient eyes and lunch at Spruce Phoenix Park!

New friends, food and fun! This post is actually very very late as the gorgeous lunch session you're about to see took places several months back in May. It was to be the first of many more meet ups with my lovely girlfriend who I got to know from work. It's an unlikely thing for a personality like myself to come across any girls who are similar in the sense that I can literally talk non-stop (except when I'm eating and no present) especially when it comes to topics and opinions that jive with me. This lovely gal I met through my work place and since this first proper meet up outside of work, we've formed a good friendship also with two other gal pals at work and all four of us try to meet up with each other whenever we can!

Here we met up with another ex-colleague at his new work place at the time, Spruce restaurant which is a very well to do eatery that has a few outlets in Singapore. Their menu is small, of great quality and the ambience is just fantastic! Of course we also had great conversation which at the time I hadn't had a in LONG ASS WHILE!

Thai food at Nakhon Kitchen, desserts at Hatter Street and Chinatown!

Food and friends! I'm sure many of you would agree that nothing is better than food and friends! The older I get I realize how precious time is and as it turns out, when ever the opportunity does come to meet up/catch up with friends it's usually done over a meal or some coffee. Some months ago in the summer before schools and university normally begins my boyfriend and I met up with an old favorite teacher of ours and a friend from school who was visiting Singapore!

We meet up and went to have a delicious thai meal at a place that I'd heard so much about but never visited yet! Nakhon Kitchen is known for affordable and super authentic thai food and it did not disappoint! It was so great just to be able to chat non-stop about the going ons, asking each other how we've been doing and what's been going on as it's been years since we all were in the same space!

Peacock feather inspired makeup and a Korean dinner with ex-classmates!

Peacock eyes and delicious Korean fried chicken! For those who didn't know, I love love the color scheme of peacock feathers and mermaid's tails! I love jewel tones especially when it comes to blues, purples and teals! If I could I'd wear those colors all the time on my eyes but since I can't I do pull them out on special occasions or times when I've got the extra time to invest in a fancier eye look!

On this occasion I met up with some ex-classmates for the biggest gathering we've had since we all went our own ways last year! Our class compromised of just under twenty people but quite a few of them are either always very busy with work or aren't in the country. We all visited an ex-classmates' newly opened restaurant here in Singapore called, "Twins". His twin brother and himself are korean and their place has a menu of various korean style fried chicken and other popular dishes!

Special: Second Beauty Blogger meet up with Pam from Jade in the Palace!

Beauty Blogger meet up! For all you guys who have been with me and my blog for a while you might have seen that a few years back Pam from Jade in the Palace came to visit Singapore and we managed to meet up! From before our first meet up till now, we both frequent each others blogs and I can say are beauty blogger buddies in person! She's a lovely person and actually the only other beauty blogger I've met in person!  (Check out our first meet up here!)

She had a very short trip yet again to Singapore just a few months back and we spent an evening together in town! I accompanied Pam to some shops and we went looking for some products she was keen on finding. Unfortunately we didn't find them all but she had already done most of her shopping earlier. We ended up having breakfast for dinner at Wild Honey restaurant which is a really popular spot in Orchard Road!

Monday funday pot luck lunch with the girls!

Pot luck lunch with the girls! The last few years of my life have lacked gatherings and meals with friends and when my colleagues from my work decided to unanimously to gather for a lunch back in June we all agreed on doing a pot luck! It was such a nice day spending girl time for the first time in a while and despite being such a sociable and friendly person I've rarely gone out with friends! We all looked so forward to the lunch and boy was it a great day spent with some of the loveliest girls I've come to know!

Besides being our first gathering, it was also a mini belated birthday celebration and I made it a point to bake a chocolate cake with salted caramel frosting in the middle which was the birthday girl's favorite flavor! The cake was a first for me but with the help of my boyfriend it turned out amazing!!

Coffee and cake meet up and dinner in Chinatown!

Coffee, cake and catching up! Back a few years ago when my family and I returned to Singapore permanently after having lived in several countries in asia I arrived back at my home city without any childhood friends or adult friends at all. School wasn't easy at first but being at the age I was at I knew I had to get on with things as it was my last two years of highschool. The best and most important person I got to know through highschool is my now boyfriend of 3 years.

Close behind was this teacher we meet up with some weeks ago. He was my boyfriend's teacher and friend for some years and I didn't even have any classes with him however he was one of the most 'human', friendly, honest and kind soul in the school we attended which was full of people but few who were willing to be genuine. Due to the time I spent with my then friend (now boyfriend) at school, I met and got to know this teacher and now he's still a friend we can talk to and confide in!

Special: Mini Highschool Class of 2012 Reunion at Brewerkz!

Highschool Reunion! Hello ladies! For those who don't know, I grew up in several different countries in south east asia, returning often during holidays to singapore. Hence my classmates are from everywhere in the world, in a class of 25-30 students, people came from 10-15 different countries or more.

This was our life and still is, being surrounded by people from everywhere was our reality growing up and it doesn't challenge us like a lot of locals seem to feel growing up and living in one place their whole lives! The three that I met up with were classmates I had while living in Phnom Penh Cambodia!

Special: December BBQ party with my classmates!

Korean BBQ Party! Hey hey, you you! I know that you wanna be at my party! No way no way, I think you need some BBQ!

Yes, I just phrased that like Girlfriend from Avril Lavigne! Last year in the last week of December, a small bunch of my class managed to meet up at a classmate's apartment in Orchard for a well deserved Korean BBQ!

The classmate who organized it is from Korea and he ordered some pork belly from his Brother who's doing a grill restaurant here in town. Together with some salad, sauce, drinks and snacks chipped in we had a really filling, yummy night!

Special: Decemeber meet up with old highschool friends!

Meeting up with old friends! Hello ladies! It's the eve of Chinese new year or the lunar new year and I'm about to go down to have the traditional 'reunion' dinner with my family. Near the end of December my boyfriend and I met up with two friends from highschool who were visiting Singapore!

We met up in the Orchard area and bought bubble milk tea, walked around and caught up with what we've been doing. It was definitely a nice break from our ever busy lives to catch up with old friends who are now in so many different corners of the world.

Special: Christmas Beauty Swap with Jade in the Palace!

Christmas Beauty Blogger Swap! Happy new year everybody! I spent my new year's eve having a mexican make-it-yourself wrap dinner at my beautiful boyfriends! He spent the afternoon cooking, making frozen blend magaritas and I had a morning shift at work so I made it for dinner and also got my belated christmas present!

After doing a swap with Pam from Jade in the Palace Beauty blog earlier this year (check out our swap here), I proposed to do another swap for christmas! As of now even though I sent my package a weeek earlier, Pam's package has been held up most likely by the post office in Germany!

My friend Charles!

Day out with with Charles! After about a year or not meeting up although we're both in Singapore, my friend and ex-colleague Charles and finally found time to meet up for an afternoon in town!

We used to work at Universal Studios on Sentosa Island and we both were at the Transformer Supply Vault store. We met up around late November last year and finally after both being very busy, me with school and work and him with compulsory Army service we found time for an afternoon out!

Beautiful Thai Indonesian Dinner at Bumbu Restaurant! (Meeting an old friend)

Feast at Bumbu Thai Indonesian Restaurant! Food! Who doesn't love food and who doesn't love tasy, appetizing fresh dishes! A new gem find is Bumbu Restaurant here in Singapore! It serves Thai and Indonesian cuisine, they have a menu where you pay one price and can order a certain number of dishes at a time and order more if you finish them! It's called the 'buffet' menu but the food is served like a la carte dishes!

Together with my family, we went to one of their newer outlets near Farrer Road. This outlet is on the second level of an apartment complex, it's a level with other restaurants, tuition shops and little shops.

FOTD: Sweetie pie eyes and meeting up with a friend!

Sweetie pie eyes! Having finally got my make up greedy hands on Sleek's Oh So Special Palette (my full review here!) I've been using it many times over! It has an amazing range of shades for what I think is a sweet to glamorous neutral palette with a gunmetal, purple, matte black and pinks!

I met up with an old school friend which shares the same love of eating and gaming (although she games almost all the time like how I blog all the time!) We enjoy counterstrike together but it's been a while and she's not in the country!

Special: Beauty Swap with 'Jade in the Palace'!

Beauty Blogger Swap! Hello all! I'm so excited for November, there's so much happening, I'm planning out every free day of time to see people and get things done! I did a beauty swap with the loveliest Pam from ("Jade in the Palace" beauty blog) and our packages arrived during mid-september! Mine took a bit longer to get to her but hers got to me very quickly!

I wasn't expecting so much in the pacakage as although we agreed to spend a certain amount we did include more things for each other, however I think Pam went all out and got me so much more! So many lovely sample sized products and lovely bits and bobs!

Check out Pam's post on (our swap here!)

Rave Review: theBalm's blush in Cabana Boy! (FOTD and day out with friends!)

Soo...Doomsday went real well! For those who were aware of the 21st December 2012 Mayan aapocalypse prediction and how absolutely nothing happened...as usual. This fictitious prophecy stuff has to go!

I was thinking about posting some hauls but this blush by theBalm just couldn't wait, some of you have already asked or mentioned how you liked in on my last post (check out here!) where I was wearing it with the Red Earth eyeshadow!

So happy that I spent some time this afternoon doing a very fancy Japanese looking dramatic eye...I wanted something Arabic and sexy and I think I did it! It will be coming very soon!

Special: Home made wantons and cookies with the boyfriend!

Cookie time! I had a foodie day with my boyfriend two weeks ago, we made fresh prawn and chives wantons as well as chocolate chip cookies. He made himself a GIANT one!

I love spending time with him, either cooking, catching a film or going to do something at the beach however time is precious and both of us are quite occupied with school/work/family.

 PS.
As of today, I had to upgrade my google account as I filled up my 1 GB space for albums. I realize that my uploads of fullsize photos 80% of the time has probably contributed to that and the fact that I have uploaded alot of individual photos instead of what i do now. I intend for my upgraded 25GB to last me a much longer time!

Food Craze: Aroy Thai, Straits Kitchen, long Beach and Cedele!

Asian delights! That's what I think when I'm really hungry, I want something tasty, crispy, explosive and fresh! My love for asian cuisine will carry on and I hope to find more places serving yummy bites.

I've yet to find places in singapore serving amazing vietnamese and thai food at good prices so that's a search I must undertake when I've got the time!
