Macaron Eyes! For those who aren't aware, the brand 1028 is a Taiwanese drugstore brand that sells gorgeous, high quality make up products that can be found in Singapore at Watsons! I've swatched all their eyeshadows and they are all so amazing that the first beauty product I bought from them was a beautiful varied neutral palette called the Brownie Eyes palette (see my review here)!
I knew that I would eventually go back and buy more shadows from them as they are very nicely packaged and seriously have the quality of shadows like from Urban Decay! This is the Macaron palette which surprisingly aren't soft pastel colorful shades like the name might suggest.

Packaging!
For the few of you who may have seen my review of the 1028 Brownie Eyes Palette, this Macaron one is just as gorgeous and super cute and perfect in all ways. You get the six shadows in a slim tin case that's light and sturdy.
I really love the design on the exterior and interior. I mean, who
wouldn't be enticed to want to see what's inside this pretty pink and
macaroon decorated case?!
This company really gets kudos for putting quite a bit of effort into the super pretty packaging, not to mention it's a great size and built for traveling. You also have a small mirror inside this palette which is decent for doing things like concealer, powder and checking on eye make up but it's not big enough for my liking to use to do my eye make up.
Overall
the packaging is pretty much almost flawless and such an attraction. I
don't see how anyone could just gloss over this at the drugstore,
especially when it's such an affordable one in Singapore! There's
nothing I can fault except that I would like a mirror that's larger on
the inside cover!

Product!
I feel like this product only needs one long sentence as it's so perfect. Firstly, let me say that exactly like the Brownie Eyes palette which is the neutral version also from 1028, these shadows are so flawless in terms of texture. These are some of the most creamy, soft shadows that apply so evenly and blend out so easily that you will never have any harsh or visible edges. In this palette you get 5 super fine shimmery/satin finishes and one more glittery shade. In the Brownie Eyes palette you get five shimmers and one matte.
These shadows are pigmented, however the shades you get in this palette are a beautiful balance of warm/cool tones. Something to realize is that pretty much 5/6 of the shades in this palette are light or medium in tone with the first shade in the second row being the darkest and it's honestly a pretty medium toned shade. When I saw the word 'macaron' and the pretty colorful pasteries on the tin I thought the shades were going to be soft colorful pastels but instead you get a super pretty array of easy to wear light-medium tone neutral shades.
In all honesty, I have no complaints, this palette is not only perfect for those who love pretty packaging, shimmery shadows or neutrals....but it's a great gift and will be totally awesome for make-up newbies! I love this palette for days I want super effortless pretty eyes, your looks will never look boring or neutral with this palette!

Paid: $28.90 SGD or about $23 USD
This is an amazing price as Mac single eyeshadows retail for $33 SGD and drugstore duos/quads are about $20 SGD.
Recommend: YES. If you get a chance to buy this or the Brownie Eyes palette in store or can order it online do go ahead! The quality and versatility of these palettes are incredible!
Repurchase: Yes, I've already actually bought this for my best friend! Also I plan to go back and buy one of their quads next!
Bottom line: Some seriously amazing shadows, these will fit perfectly into the average beauty lover's collection and might be a must have for those who prefer natural looking shimmery shades for everyday use!
What do you think of the 1028 Macaron Eyeshadow Kit?
Did you also expect colorful pastels?

Thank you!
I love food inspired themes for beauty products, haha! That orangey copper shade is beautiful - all of the shades are!
ReplyDeleteWow, the packaging is very nice and the pigmentation looks great, too. I tried a blush from this brand in the past which I do like, but it has a regular packaging unfortunately :D

ReplyDeleteOmgggg. I need to stop reading reviews for awhile because I'm wanting everything! I've been really into pinks and neutrals are always my jam and now I want this palette.
ReplyDeleteWow! I'll be in Singapore tomorrow so I must make sure to look at this brand! You are right- the colours don't look like macaroon colours. They look very light in the pan but the swatches surprised me- they are so gorgeous! Thanks for your beautiful review xx
ReplyDeleteThe packaging is so cute! I absolutely love the look of the shades included though. Beautiful!

What a cute palette! I can't believe how pigmented it is.
ReplyDeleteThe packaging is super cute!!
ReplyDeleteWHATTTT??? I FEEL LIED TO, BECAUSE WHEN I SAW THIS POST ON BLOGLOVIN, I REALLY DID THINK IT WAS GOING TO BE PASTEL SHADE EYESHADOWS. ITS A MISNOMER, I SAY. A MISNOMER!!! The shades are actually quite gorgeous though, and I can definitely see how buttery and creamy they are just by looking at the swatches.
ReplyDeleteTotally irrelevant, but I FINALLY picked up my first Urban Decay eyeshadow palette as a gift to myself for Christmas. Haven't swatched it yet, but I am excite.
