Review: Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Milk!

Super Hyaluronic Acid moisturizer! For those who aren't aware, a very popular and now very common ingredient in asian skin care is hyaluronic acid. The japanese brand Hada Labo uses this ingredient in their moisturizing milk/lotion products! I've tried their whitening version of this moisturizing milk (see my review here) and decided after finishing it to try this version!

Hada labo has a few lines of product, one primarily for hydrating, one for whitening and one for anti-aging. Expect all the textures of their products to be mainly thin, moist and very lightweight. Do check them out, they are an affordable line of japanese skincare to try!

Made in JAPAN! Do check as several of their skincare products are now made in China or "PRC" which is also China. I have nothing against Chinese people but have a hard time trusting products produced on mainland China.

Packaging & Product!

This moisturizing milk is packaging just like the whitening and anti-aging formulas which is in a plastic bottle. It's super simple and has a good detailed description with the ingredients list in the back. Japanese/asian packaging of beauty products in general are a bit overdone, fancy and colorful so it's not an issue to me. Although it is something to note that the original stick in the front of the bottle is all japanese and the english is an extra sticker! This bottle does hold a sizeable 140ml of product so it's not friendly for travel as you need so little product.

This type of moisturizer is best for those with normal-oilier skin as it's a very light milky fluid texture and leaves no trace of greasiness or stickiness. The scent is a very light stereotypical moisturizer scent but it's very faint. You need very little of this product to cover the face and the neck area as I like to bring my product to that area too.

After about 5-10 minutes this product absorbs very nicely into the skin and leaves the skin slightly moist and very soft. I always wear this at night and wear it overnight. In the morning I've noticed that this keeps the skin hydrated and keeps fine lines at bay like around the eyes and mouth especially for me. I can't be sure that this has lightened any pigments as I haven't been keeping track but my current spots have not been increasing the last 6 months as I've been using this or the whitening version.

The milk is a medium thickness at first but it turns into a watery texture very quickly when touched and rubbed into the skin! It's nice and cooling and makes the skin feel great, especially when you're living somewhere that's more humid and warm.

If you are someone with dryer skin or if you stay somewhere with dry/ cold weather this is not the right product for you. This is only a temporary relief for those with dryness and is more suited as an over night treatment for those with normal-slightly oilier skin.

Paid: $19.90 SGD or about $16 USD

Recommend: Yes! This product is the perfect lightweight fluid texture moisturizer for those living in south east asia or anywhere that has warmer/more humid climate! This is best for those with normal-combination skin types.

Repurchase: Yes, I've already repurchased the whitening version of this as I've actually finished up this bottle by the time this review goes up! One bottle when used regularly (such as almost every night) takes about 4-6 months to finish up.

Bottom line: This hydrating milk moisturizer is best suited for younger skin that needs overnight hydration. The light texture makes it great for those in warmer climates and the nano hyaluronic acid really helps to plump up any fine lines and slightly dry areas!

Do you prefer a more fluid texture moisturizer like this?

  3. i've wanted to try this for a while but when i made my sass purchase i bought the jujuaquamoist version of this instead. that one seems to have the same runny/but thick milky texture but i think it was making my pores clogged. hard to say.
maybe i'll have to give this a go instead. even though my skin is somewhat dehydrated i think i could use this in conjunction with some other moisturizers

  6. I have this one and it is part of my daily skin care ^^
it is really good esp for the price, but sometimes it does break me out so I can't use it every single day. But sometimes I use it like for 4 days in a week. I also drink vitC and use vitC moisturizer from Origins so Hyaluronic Acid and this AHA BHA ingredients just won't work together with vitC. So I need to pay attention to other skincare I am using together with this particular line from hadalabo.

  8. Woah, this seems like a fantastic product! I swear one of these days I need to make this giant order for skincare products that are from Asia. And I have to agree with you, I have a hard time trusting products from China as well... I tend to make an exception for ELF because its an American company... but I'm still not quite comfortable with them... Thanks for the review!
