Gel Creme foundation! Maybe to the surprise of many, a crazy beauty fiend like myself has actually owned very few high end foundations and currently I own none! High end foundations usually retail from $45-100 SGD here, even MUFE and Urban Decay's foundations cost $60-70 which is much pricier than in other countries! Hence although I spend plenty of money on make up and skin care I've yet to fork out one lump sums on a single product!
After coming across a local beauty blog BunBun make up tips by Juli, I had to get a few things that were so worth getting! One was a baked blush from Clio I already reviewed here! Another was this product which didn't hold up on her oilier skin so I thought I'd give it a shot!

Packaging!
This product has a very simple and pretty baby blue and white packaging that's shiny. This same color scheme runs throughout Estee lauder's line of CyberWhite products. This product comes in a super slim and easy to use thick plastic squeeze tube. I do like how this is hyegenic and great for travel and bringing around as it's light and small.
There's good labeling on both the front and back of the tube and the screw on cap mechanism ensure that even if you squeeze the tube with the cap on, no product will come out. I'm a fan of packaging like this, although for such a high retailing price I would have hesitated and probably not have got this at regular price.

Product!
This product has a sheer-medium coverage but when layered it can build up coverage nicely to a solid medium. This shade 02 Warm Porcelain is a light yellow that's suitable for NC 20-25 at most. As a product part of the CyberWhite line, this product is meant to calm skin and brighten and the tone of this product is definitely very brightening and not ashy at all.
I like how the consistency is a smooth gel that's not watery at all and it blends out very easily and looks very natural. On it's own the oil controlling abilities is not good at all for hot and humid weather like in Singapore. I've mixed this with other BB creams and then set it with a powder which allowed it to last like a regular foundation/bb cream.
The only issue that I have with this product is that when set with a powder the product becomes slightly cakey around the nose and mouth throughout the day here in singapore's super humid and hot weather.
I think although I make this work for my normal to slightly oil skin this product is best for normal to dry skin since it has a dewy finish and isn't drying. If you do have dark scars or very red blemishes this won't cover it up very heavily.

Paid: $30 SGD or $24 USD on a blog sale! (Retails for $66 SGD in store)
I got this from Juli from BunBun make up tips blog sale! (See here)
Recommend: Yes but mostly for slightly dry to normal skin types. This consistency will cake up a bit around the nose and mouth when you get sweaty or have oilier skin. The coverage is very natural and this is super lightweight.
Repurchase: No, I've tried a couple products like this now and all haven't been great for me. This one is good but that amazing. I am curious in trying more cream formulas for foundation but not this light super gel texture!
Bottom line: A very comfortable and great color matching foundation. I'm glad to have tried this and this would be great in cooler and less humid weather! It's not ideal for wearing in Singapore or if you've got oily skin although I do enjoy the natural finish!
Have you owned any Estee Lauder foundations?
Do you like gel textures?
Let me know!
Feel free to comment!
Thank you!
This one has similar finish like Missha BB Cream I used to wear a lot.. This range is only available in Asia I believe as I have never seen it here before..
ReplyDeleteI love how natural it looks on you, and the dewy finish is beautiful, but I can understand it won't work well on such humid and warm weather..
I alternate a lot between foundations and BB creams. I tend to use BB creams more in the winter as they're a little more moisturising - and it's the oil control that I struggle with the most! When I visit HK, I tend to wear much less make up because most things seem to slide off or feel uncomfortable in the heat!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great in depth review of this product. I can't believe how expensive foundations are where you live! Thats crazy!! This foundation looks so natural and pretty on you. It might work well for me as I live in quite cold weather most of the year!
ReplyDeleteYou have good skin Sharlynn! :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow your skin looks incredible! I wish we had this product here in the UK xx

You got a good deal on it. Sounds like an ok product but probably not worth the price tag for me.
