Special: Chinese New Year 2015! (Reunion Dinner and visiting family)

Happy year of the Sheep! To be honest I'm not quite sure if it's a goat or sheep this year as half the portrayals of the animals look like fluffy sheep and the other half have horns and look like goats! Apparently it's the year of the 'ram' to be most specific! I wish all those of Chinese descent a prosperous and happy year ahead! As a chinese Singaporean and living in a country with a predominantly Chinese population the lunar new year is a big deal here.

Expect red and gold lanterns and decorations all over town, supermarkets filled with shelves and rows of traditional snacks and foods for the occasion and streets in Chinatown shut down for temporarily stalls to set up to do business of goods and foods! We also have a public holiday but unlike China or other Chinese countries ours is only a day or two and not a week or two!

Holiday Special: Day 4 in Bangkok, Thailand! (Jan 2015)

Day 4 in Bangkok, Thailand! Here I have my forth day of my Bangkok holiday that I took with my mom earlier last month! It was trip that was basically all shopping, eating, walking everywhere and great foot massages! For those who haven't visited Bangkok it's one of the best cities to visit in south east asia for food, modern malls and historical places!

On day 4, we basically visited MBK center and then chatuchuk market, however although it was a friday there were only about 20% of the stalls open! Our flight back was on Saturday evening and hence we decided to just drop by around 6 when there were some shops open to take a look!

Rave Review: Eskinol Papaya Smooth White and Calamansi Spot-less White cleanser!

Papaya and Calamansi toners! As a girl who tends to have skin that gets slightly oily throughout the day I love using a toner on days that I'm not wearing any make up or on my face after my make up is removed at night. I love trying toners made with different extracts and I prefer a toner that's really astringent and alcoholic as it really helps to keep my skin matte and my skin doesn't dry out easily.

These two toners are from a Fillopino brand that's probably sold in the Phillipines but I bought these at Lucky Plaza in Singapore which is a mall filled predominantly with Filopino store holders! At first I was confused and wasn't sure what this was as I'm used to the name 'toner' but these are called 'cleansers'! When in Indonesia toner is called 'tonic' and hence I realized this has several names!

Review: Clio Gelpresso Pencil Gel Liner Mini Be Brown set!

Clio Gelpresso Brown eyeliner set! As an girl with smaller asian lids, who has oilier skin and who has super sensitive watery eyes...finding a pencil eyeliner that will stay vibrant and long lasting without smudging is quite a task! For few years I tried looking for a typical waterproof pencil and nothing will stay in my lower waterline for more than an hour however more than two years ago when I discovered Clio's gelpresso eyeliners I had hit jack pot!

For those interested in seeing my review on the full sized Clio Gelpresso gel liner pencils (see here!) This set was purchased online during a sale from one of my favorite sellers Best Price BREEZY on the website Qoo10, which is a sort of regional asian  ebay type site. Do check out their other awesome asian cosmetics/skincare products and look out for their sales and great exclusive products!

Special: Valentine's Day Fuchsia Pops look 2015! (Korean BBQ lunch and dinner)

Valentine's look, day and food! Hope everyone who spent valentine's either alone, with friends, family and your significant other had a great time! I saw plenty of ladies posting up valentine's look before the day itself and I had planned to but unfortunately fell sick on the day I wanted to do my look and therefore here is the look I did for the day itself!

I knew I wanted to incorporate straight up bold hot pink in my look but I decided I'd do it in pops of color on my lips, nails and hand bag instead of it being on my eyes as I usually would. My boyfriend and I visited for the first time a popular affordable Korean BBQ restaurant and then for dinner with spent out time at my place eating hams, foie gras, cheese, grapes, bread and sweet wine!

Review: Memebox Special #50 Step-by-Step Skincare!

Step-by-Step Skincare! For those who are new to asian skincare products and routines, it's not uncommon that the 'normal' number of steps in a night time skincare routine can contain 6-9 steps! This korean skincare box from memebox includes 6 steps: Tone, essence, ampoule, moisturize, sunscreen and treatments! These steps are meant to be done one after another as layering skincare is very common in east asian routines as it's believed to help the different products absorb into the skin and to improve effective of how the products work!

"Korean skin care is a multi-step daily routine that sparks a ton of intrigue in the beauty world. Its billion-step regimen sounds a bit extreme to outsiders looking in, but it all boils down treating, hydrating, and protecting skin, and preventing damage before it starts."

Rave Review: Lady Oscar La Rose de Versailles Liquid Eyeliner in Black!

New favorite eyeliner! Today I'll be bringing to me blog an eyeliner that I've been using for a few months that can easily take over my holy grail Kiss me heroine eyeliner! I found this in the Japanese eyeliner/mascara section of Watsons and this brand is also Japanese which gave me confidence that it would be another awesome eyeliner.

This style of eyeliner is the type that I always buy, a pen form with a fine brush tip! For those interested in a review of my holy grail eyeliner (see here)!

Shimmery Bright Blue Mermaid Eyes! (Lunch at Siam Kitchen)

Shimmery Bright Blue Mermaid Eyes! When I think of Mermaids I think of different metallic and shimmery shades of blues, greens, purples and a bunch of reflective scales! I totally need to do a look with blue, green and purple in the future with mermaids in mind! Here I've created a light-medium tone bright blue look! I brought the shades much higher above the crease than I normally would with bright bolder colors but it turned out great!

Review: Canmake Marshmallow Transparent Finish Powder in Pearl Natural!

Marshmallow Transparent Finish Powder! For those who have followed my blog and especially my FOTDs you'd know that I always...ALWAYS set my base/foundation with a pressed powder or foundation powder. Some months ago I came across this very finely milled light feeling pressed powder from Canmake and decided on a whim to pick it up!

As someone who has always used heavy duty foundation powders to set my base as my skin is slightly oilier and I love a matte finish this seemed like a good lighter coverage pressed powder to try. I'm now so glad I picked this up as it performed so much better than I expected!

Holiday Special: Day 3 in Bangkok, Thailand! (Jan 2015)

Day 3 in Bangkok, Thailand! It was almost a month ago that my mom and I had a 5 day and 4 night trip to Bangkok. In the past we've visited bangkok quite a few times as it's so affordable to fly there and stay at a good hotel. Popular with many people in Singapore also as Bangkok boasts such a great variety of fresh authentic cheap food, massages, shopping and more! This post is of our third day in Bangkok! I tended to take a lot of photos of food and not so much of our surroundings so please excuse me!

For those who missed or would like to see my Day 1 (see here), Day 2 (see here) or my big make up haul (see here)!

Review: Brigitte Five Oil BB Cream in shade #02 Natural Beige!

Five Oil BB Cream! Today here I have a BB cream from the Japanese brand Brigitte! The distribution company for Brigitte products in Singapore was so kind to send me this product to try! I've already tried  several products from Brigitte last year so I was keen to receive this! (See my review here) It's a brand that although has a french name is from Japan and promotes 'kawaii' culture! Similar to brands like Majolica Majorca and Kanebo Lavshuca this line is full of beautifully designed products that remind me of royalty, princesses and yet a sense of refined femininity!

As someone with combination skin I tend to steer clear of products that have oils or are made with extra oils however although this BB cream is formulated with 5 different oils it has exceeded my expectations and has performed amazingly on me!

Holiday Special: Make up haul from Bangkok, Thailand! (Jan 2015)

Make up haul from Bangkok, Thailand! For those of you who have read and followed my recent Bangkok holiday posts I definitely did a ton of make up and skincare shopping while I was there. There are plenty of amazing local brands that are of great quality and in general are sooooo much more affordable than singapore!

For example pressed powder goes for average of $4-10 SGD in Thailand whereas drugstore brands in Singapore cost $15-30 on average. I did most of my make up shopping at Beauty Buffet, Karmart, 7-11 and the local supermarkets!

If you missed my recent holiday posts check out Day 1 (see here) and Day 2 (see here) of my trip in Bangkok! I will have separate posts for my duty free and skincare purchases!
