Quick look: Revlon Colorburst Lipbutter in Brown Sugar! (swatches!)

It's official! I spotted Revlon colorburst lip butters just about two weeks ago at Watsons, Gaurdian and at Revlon stands in NTUC! I grabbed a copy of the advert pamphlet laying tucked away at the side!

The bad news is that we only have 8 shades out of 21! Boo hoo!!

I picked up 020 Brown sugar with a 20% off at Watsons so I paid about $12 SGD instead of the U.P. of $15.95!

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter! In 020 Brown Sugar!

Only 8 shades of 21 can be found here...at least there seems to be a shade in each category of color, one coral, one pink, one red, one brown, one light pink...etc

Here is a review post of all the shades of Revlon Lip Butters from Karla Sugar's website!

Photos are from the linked post!

The shades avaliable in Singapore are the following...

  • Peach Parfait
  • Cherry Tart
  • Fig Jam
  • Brown Sugar
  • Lolipop
  • Macaroon
  • Strawberry Shortcake
  • Sugar Plum

At least there seems to be a shade in every major color group however I wished they had brought it up to 12 colors...I'd have added Creme Brulee, Tutti Frutti, Red Velvet and Raspberry pie!

I got myself 020 Brown Sugar! Knew I would love this color!

You don't get much product though...

Looks like a solid coco color in the tube!

Swatched : Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in 020 Brown Sugar...a soft medium brown with fine shimmer

Packaging & Product!

I think the packaging is really nice, feels like an extra luxe lipbalm packaged like a lipstick. I also dig the fact that the case of the tube matches the lip butter inside!

The product itself is quite special, I see this being a hit with people who don't like the heavy feel/coverage of lipsticks. This would be good for pre-teens and younger girls who want something glossy with some color.

I really enjoy the smooth, definitely buttery texture, it glides on so easily and kicks some color just like a sheer lipstick. It doesn't last very long on it's own as it is like a lipbalm.

I'm not afraid to over apply or to have it bleed as it is slippery enough but does not go outside my lips easily. I love to use this to tone down the color of my natural lips especially when I have darker eye looks.

Bare lips! Very pink, sometimes it doesn't look very nice with darker eye make up!

Paid: $12 (UP $15.95 SGD/ $12.80 USD)

They are comparatively pricier compared to what you pay in the States but this is a lot cheaper than regular drugstore lipsticks from Revlon/L'oreal/Maybelline)

Recommend: Yes!

Repurchase: Yes, I'll be going after peach parfait, sugar plum and macaroon!

Bottom line: For people looking for something that is light, glossy and easy to use this is for you! If you don't mind spending extra on a colored balm, it's not good for long hours, use stick to regular lipstick for that.

Have you tried the lip butters? Any favorite shade? Let me know!

  2. I'm so bummed that we only have 8 shades here =( Brown is not my choice of colour for lip products. I'm eye-ing the more reddish pink shades.

  10. Looks really moisturising and smooth on! Boo for limiting the shade selection though, it'd be a lot more fun if there was more choice.
