Review: Laneige Water Sleeping Pack_EX!

Water masking time! For those who know about this Korean brand Laneige, it's well-known for very light textured skin care and make up. This line of skin care is all 'snow crystal' and water based and is meant for hydration!

The first time I used this water gel mask product from Laneige, my mom and I bought it on board Silkair airline when the brand was not yet selling in Singapore! That was more than 2 years ago!

Continue below for the review!

Laneige Water Sleeping Pack_EX gel mask!

It comes with a small spatula for hygienically taking out the product and instructions! I don't use the spoon though!

Product & Packaging!

Very simply and practically packaged, it comes in a tub which to some maybe unhygienic but I have no qualms with that! I think the tub is very classy and well labelled too. Inside you're getting an aqua colored water based gel that meant to be spread over your face (and I put it on my neck too) as an overnight hydrating mask.

It has a thick gel texture, very cooling to the touch and a very light fresh scent. I've used this many times but not too regularly over the last two years. After spreading a thin layer over all over my face and down my neck, it takes a short while to dry to a dewy finish. After sleeping over night with this on, wash it off with water and your skin is plump to touch and feels very fresh.

In terms of impact on your skin. This does not have any long term effects, its meant for fast skin refreshment and helping to plump up fine lines. I used to have a visible laugh line on the left side of my face from my nose to mouth corner but this got rid of it over right.

Has a light fluffy gel texture, watery and cooling but thick enough that it needs to be spread out.
Laneige Water Sleeping Pack_EX gel mask and Neutrogena Hydro Boost water gel mask...a comparison to come in the future!
Paid: $47 SGD or about $39 USD (I bought this product on Silkair for a different price)

Recommend: Yes, anyone looking for a real hydrating and refreshing boost over night. This does perfectly if you have the budget.

Repurchase: Nope, I think this is costly for a overnight moisturizing mask. I'd rather do that with sheet mask. I do want to try more laneige products!

Bottom Line: This is a great over night treatment for normal/combination or dry skin! It should be suited for sensitive skin and it helps to plump up tired skin!

Have you tried Laneige products?
Fan of masks like this or sheet masks?
Let me know!

Feel free to comment! Thanks!

  7. This sounds so nice! I normally have pretty oily skin but this winter is the first that my skin has actually started to get dry in areas! I've been on the hunt for something like this to give my skin a bit more moisture during the winter months. Cant wait to see your comparison!

  13. I lurve hydrating sleep masks, use one at least weekly even in summer! Keep them in the fridge so they're nice and cool to apply. This one's a bit too pricey for my budget though.

  15. It looks really light and refreshing! I like the idea of an overnight mask, though I tend to bury my face into my pillow which might not work the best for this type of product :p

  16. Great review! I haven't tried this but have heard good things about the Snow Crystal range - they do makeup too right? I like that this pack is alcohol free as it probably won't irritate my eyes if I was to wear this to sleep.

The sleeping packs/masks I have tried in the past (korean brands) have been good but quite sticky which meant I had to remove it before going to bed. Would be great to find one that hydrates my skin but didn't have an uncomfortable layer sitting on my face!

  17. I've got this Laneige Water Sleeping Pack EX (haha still don't understand why the EX is in its name) in a small tub size that I bought from Sasa.com! I love its texture, sort of gluey but a nice fluffy gel-like texture that is super cooling. It feels so nice on the skin and does hydrate my skin overnight. I got it for a much more affordable price though, which is why I'm quite happy with the product! I also don't use it regularly, not because I don't like it, maybe more due to laziness :P

  18. Purchased 2 jars of Lineage Water Sleeping Pack early in 2014 and just finished using my first jar last week. Loooooove the product! so refreshing to apply to my face after the toner before bedtime. Paid less than $30 US and hope to find more again.... unless the Neutrogena product does the same job for $18.00 with the same texture as LaNeige. The smell of Laneige is a dreamy fragrance, so light, it makes me look forward to night time just so I can wash my face to apply this cream. First time I saw this product advertised was for Target stores. Drove 10 miles to get to that store near here, but they had never heard of the product. That is when I looked all over the internet to find out it came from Asia. All worth it though.
