Review: Lorac Unzipped Eyeshadow Palette!

Unzipped gorgeous shadows with Lorac! Yes, this palette isn't exactly the newest and hottest palette in store but it's one that I only became an owner of about half a year ago. I had waited several months for this to come back into stock on the local cosmetic site in Singapore Shopping-district! It had sold out so quickly after being available and then when I wanted to buy it, it went out of stock for more than 3 months! Shortly after I did purchase it, the product went out of stock all over again! This is one of many products that are 'hot' on the site because 90% of the products they sell cannot be bought in store in Singapore!

I took several months to decide with Lorac palette I wanted as I knew that the half matte half shimmery Lorac Pro is very popular and has gorgeous shades too. However I much prefer the smaller size of this palette and how there's more mid-tone shades that are beautifully shimmery just the way I love them!

Totally love how they've made all the shade names start with the prefix "Un"!

A super slender and compact palette, it's definitely sturdy and great to travel with!

Packaging!

Every part of the packaging of this palette is really up to what I like when it comes to palettes. I love how slim the entire palette is and although it is a cardboard type material it's super tough and sturdy. I have absolutely no worries about the shadows breaking or the mirror breaking from accidental falls or knocks. There is a good medium sized mirror in the palette which is super convenient for using while traveling.

I was a bit surprised when I had to peel off two layers of cardboard packaging which I think is a bit excessive although I get that one layer held the mini primer which the outer sleeve couldn't hold. Other than that, there really isn't any downside to the packaging of this palette! I like also how the shadows are close together and there's not too much space between them as well as the names of the shadows right under each shade!

Product!

Right off the bat I knew to a certain degree that I would love this palette based from the many reviews and swatches I reviewed over and over again before deciding to get this! As a fan of shimmery neutral tones I love how this palette has many mid-tone type shades and not too many light or dark/deep shades. I find that this palette is a great mix of cool and warm tone shades which makes for a great selection for most skin tones!

Overall the shimmery shades tend to be a bit dry, whereas the mattes are creamy and super smooth to apply. This doesn't mean the shimmers aren't good but I find that even with a flat brush, fluffier brush or a brush with coarser bristles I really needed to 'rub' at the shimmery shade to get shadow on the brush! Other than that, I have no other complaints about these shadows!

As someone who regularly wears shimmery neutrals I love using all of the shimmery shades on my inner lid/all over the lid and then the matte shades unconditional and unspoken are amazing in the crease! Although this palette may seem pretty 'normal' I would beg to differ due to the two deeper shades unbridled and untamed being very unique with their cranberry burnt tone! More importantly, every shade is pigmented, blends out easily and are long lasting! All in all, simply great shadows that are very versatile!

 Lorac Unzipped Eyeshadow Palette!
A light gold look using Undiscovered, Uncensored, Undercover and Unspoken!
A look using Undercover, Unreal, Unbelievable, Unbridled and Unconditional!
Paid: $70 SGD or about $50.30 USD (Purchased from Shopping-district.net)

Recommend: Yes. This palette is definitely one of those more interesting neutral palettes that has a great mix of warm/cool undertones. Totally worth a pick up if you don't own many neutral palettes already and you love shimmery neutrals!

Repurchase: Nope! Nobody needs two of the same palette, especially if it's such a big one!

Bottom line: A seriously gorgeous palette of shimmery neutrals. If you're someone who prefer using light-mid tone shades and like it all wrapped up in a compact and sturdy packaging great for traveling this is totally worth checking out!

Do you own any of the Lorac eyeshadow palettes?
Would you consider buying this?

  5. These look incredibly pigmented and smooth, plus the colours are so gorgeous! This palette has been on my wishlist for quite a while now. I'm sure I'd love it, but I also think I have way too many eyeshadows as is and definitely don't need to add another palette to my collection :p But the abundance of mid-tone neutrals looks to be endlessly versatile and super wearable!

  9. I personally think this is a better palette than NAKED 3. Very gorgeously mauve-y and rosy! I haven't bought any long-ish eyeshadow palette like this in a while, but I might once I run out my eyeshadow primer. Actually Lorac primer is my favorite and I'm almost out of a full size tube. Some excuse to buy an eyeshadow palette, right? ;p

  15. Ahhhhhhhhh, been seriously lusting over this palette for a while now, which sucks because Lorac isn't available in Canada anymore :( (they used to be stocked at Sephora, but Sephora stopped carrying Lorac, which means sad times 4 me)(but Lorac, you need to expand to international shipping, man)
I've got the Lorac Pro and Lorac seriously knows how to get the packaging right. SLIM, LARGE MIRROR WITH THE NAMES OF THE SHADES ON THE ACTUAL PALETTE?? GOLD STAR FOR YOU, MAN. And I just loooooove how creamy their matte shadows are!
