Rich Burgundy make up and a delicious lunch! It may seem from my blog posts that include food that I eat out or cook amazing meals quite often (which isn't untrue) but the truth is that I don't eat out at even casual outlets very frequently! My family and myself mostly cook at home and eat at the local food courts as food is affordable and in general good quality.
I've been wanting to eat at Wine Connection for a while as the prices of all their food items are CHEAPER than places considered lower in quality and class such as Swensens and Jack's Place. The prices range mostly from $7-25 for appetizers to main courses with certain more special items over $30 like their Surf & Turf platter ($49) and their Paella ($29). Not to mention the huge range of wines from champagne, moscatos, whites and reds! From affordable to more expensive pieces!
Continue below for the lunch date!

Rich Burgundy eyes and lips! (Lunch at Wine Connection Katong) |
My quick richly colored make up look! I was fall inspired, using cranberry/burgundy shades! Loved how it turned out! |
A super simple rich burgundy eye look! I used a cranberry eyeliner all over my lids, it's actually quite messy so I didn't take close up shots of my lids! |
On my cheeks is this blush pinstripe the instain line from thebalm! (See my review here) |
On my lips a beautiful lipstick from Kiko that my blogger friend Pam sent to me! I just freaking love the rich pink burgundy tone of this shade, so perfect for going out! |
My full face! Cranberry, rust, burgundy tones on my eyes, cheeks and lips! |
We headed to the Wine Connection outlet at I12 Katong shopping mall which is a lovely smaller outlet of those in Singapore. They have a great range of quality casual western fare (steaks, pizza, pasta, salads) and they are famous for their range of wines! |
The interior of the restaurant. It's a small cozy 70 seater with some seats outdoors under shelter. The front of the shop is a mini store selling wines by bottles too! |
A delicious simple tomato and fresh mozzarella salad with pesto and balsamic reduce! |
Spanish gambas! (Grilled prawns with a garlic chilli oil) This was so damn good! |
Seafood tomato sauce spaghetti! Served with mussels, prawns and squid! |
My boyfriend had a rib eye steak with pepper sauce! Served with potato wedges, stewed ratatouille and grilled baby asparagus! |
A perfect medium, the quality of the meat was really good, almost melting in the mouth but with a good bite! |
LAVA CAKE. Wine connection has the best lava cake. Served warm, the center really is still a liquid creamy chocolate! Served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! |
The center is a warm liquid chocolate! This is amazing and I go back just to eat this! |
My boyfriend had a chocolate mousse! Covered with chocolate shavings! |
It had a lovely airy whipped thick moussey texture! Expect a milky chocolate type flavor! |
Giant cans of beer at the gourmet supermarket called 'Market Place' in I12 Katong shopping mall. |
Lunch was so delicious, filling and so worth it. For two appetizers, two mains, two desserts and two glasses of wine plus tax and service charges our giant lunch was under $100 SGD! Wine connection has a great reputation in Singapore as they have one of the largest range of wines and their food is very affordable. You can order your wines by glass if you're not keen on a bottle and so that makes it easier for customers to try out certain wines before buying a bottle.
Is there anything you'd like to try from my lunch?
What type of wine do you like?
Let me know!
Feel free to comment!
Thank you!
Wow, the purple lipstick looks amazing..I randomly buy from Kiko, although I have a store nearbuy...should go and check them out next time :D
ReplyDeleteYou should start a beauty-food blog! Talk about the great food and then let us know how your makeup is after the meal, like if your lipstick didn't budge, etc.
ReplyDeletewow I expected the bill to be way more expensive than SGD 100 for western food + wine and desserts! I def need to give this restaurant a try next time I visit Singapore ^^
ReplyDeleteLove your look, Sharllyn! Glad you like the lipstick, it suits you well :-)
I drink most wines, lol. Totally a wino. Lunch looked amazing! And I LOVE that vampy lip color - so beautiful! Totally goes perfectly with the blush and eye look, too.
ReplyDeleteBurgundy shades have been my jam lately! I don't know if it's because the cooler weather has made me gravitate towards those shades, but I can't get over burgundies right now.
ReplyDeleteI would loveee to try out that Chocolate Mousse...and lava cake...and steak. Actually, I want to try everything!

You're such a hot date! I wanna tuck into that Spanish gambas, dear! xoxo
ReplyDeleteHi Sharlynn, OMG! Your food looks so heavenly! I'm dying of famine here at 1am. I love WIne Connection at Sentosa Board walk but the 2nd time I went there, they changed their menu and I don't remember seeing the nice dishes I had during my first. I'm not even sure it is still at Sentosa Boardwalk. Your burgundy lips looks really good on your skin tone. How lucky of you to be able to wear dark lip shades so well.
