Glowing cheeks with Lucent Magique! Several months ago I bought the L'oreal Lucent Magique foundation which is Asia's equivalent of the True Match Lumi and it was fantastic! See my review of the foundation here! It's super long wearing, has great coverage and makes your skin seems like it's glowing.
I had seen the blushes in this line a few times and finally decided to pick up the blush in Duchess Rose! It's a trio of colors of a dusty rose color, exactly my favorite type of blush color for any occasion!

Packaging!
The packaging of this blush much like the foundation from this line are packaged so beautifully! The box is a slightly metallic rose gold color and the compact of the blush is a shiny rose gold shade! The whole emphasis is on the glow of what the product will do for the skin and hence the 'glowing' looking packaging is the perfect design compliment to the type of product it's selling inside.
In terms of the actual blush compact, it's the size of a large powder compact and has a beautiful shiney rose golden plastic packaging. The shade is labelled behind and inside is a slot for a small blush brush. It's a good quality feeling brush and has a good shape but it's definitely too small for my liking for proper and easy blush application.

Product!
The color of Duchess Rose is a trio of a pale pink, a light dusty pink brown and a medium dusty rose shade! The mid and deep rose shades in this trio are my favorite type of blush shades! I always go for rosy and dusty pink shades no matter what brand I buy blush from! It's hard for me to resist!
This blush powder does not have a shimmery finish, neither is it a complete matte, it's sort of a like a slightly matte satin finish that has a super even and translucent quality. The pigmentation isn't super opaque but is more of a light-medium pigmentation. It's very easy to apply just a bit or if you want more color like myself I'd have to layer but you can get a lovely color by picking up all three shades together.
My only complaint about this blush is that the color does not last very long. Compared to my Catrice, Sleek, Kiko, Lancome, Bourjois, this blush seems to be the one that lasts the shortest and just fades off very quickly if you're sweaty or if anything brushes up against your cheeks. Although because the color isn't very opaque it doesn't look strange when it fades off.
Swatches of L'oreal Lucent Magique Blush of Light Glow Palette in Duchess Rose! The trio is made up of a small strip of a cool baby pink, a light dusty rose and a deeper dusty rose. |

Recommend: Depends, if you are keen on a multi striped blush that has medium pigmentation and has a soft matte finish there is a nice range of different shades in this line to choose from. If you stay indoors mostly and don't get very warm or sweaty this will last decently otherwise if you need longer lasting power steer clear!
Repurchase: No, although the color is nice and the finish is gorgeous too, the lasting power is so weak I always find it half gone only after a few hours and I never bring out any of my other blushes as they don't need touching up as I always wear a powder and that keeps my blush on all day or night!
Bottom line: A very interesting and pretty line of blushes there are some nice shades to choose from. The quality of this blush is very lovely however because of how it lacks in staying power it isn't worth recommending or repurchasing!
Have you purchased any products from this line from L'oreal?
Would you want to try this blush?
Let me know!
Feel free to comment!
Thank you!
wow the packaging is very nice!! we get all the boring packaging here in Europe ://
ReplyDeleteDusty rose is my fave shade as well, not only for blushes but also for lipsticks and basically for everything else. lol
too bad that the staying power is so weak :/
the dusty rose color is very nice indeed, and lately I found that I like them having a brush in the blush because sometimes when Im traveling I'm not going to bring all my brushes with me! super convenient!
ReplyDeleteThe packaging is so pretty, and the colour looks gorgeous though blushes tend to fade quickly off of me anyway, so I feel like this wouldn't last long at all!

I was holding my breath to see the photo of the inside of this and it didn't disappoint, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteSucks that the staying power is weak though :(
Such a wonderful blush, love the packaging. All shades are pretty but the Dusty rose looks beautiful! I would love to see all on your lovely face. Waiting for a makeup look! Have a nice weekend dear <3 Kisses <3
ReplyDeleteThe packaging looks so nice and the product itself look really lovely :)
ReplyDeleteI am not a huge blush wearer but I think Id use this one as eyeshadows :D
That is sad that it does not have a good staying power :/
xx
this is actually quite a pretty shade but idkkk if i could justify paying $16 for loreal haha esp when it has a poor lasting power as you mentioneddd.
ReplyDeleteHmm I have like never seen these here in canada but I definitely need a longlasting blush. The matte finish I dig though!
ReplyDeleteI love all three shades, they look so natural and girly :)

ReplyDeleteI haven't bought any blush from L'Oreal for a long time but I've been thoroughly impressed by their lippies that recently came out. I should check this out. :)
Mmm...... I'm surprised it doesn't last long, but I really like the rosy shades tho......
ReplyDeleteIt's so disappointing that it does last that long :( The packaging and the color looked really lovely though.
