Review: Vichy Aqualia Thermal moisturizer (pics!)

I've actually been using several Vichy products the past few months, mainly from their  Normaderm line for oily skin but I picked this up as a richer alternative to my daily neutrogena moisturizer which has been working out fine.

This is a review of..."Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light Fortifying & Soothing 24Hr Hydrating Care"

Yikes...that's a mouthful for a moisturizer!

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light Fortifying & Soothing 24Hr Hydrating Care- sleek and easy, this could easily be packed to go!

Food: Japanese Eats @ Taka & Somerset 313 (yummy pics!)

Hey there! I've been busy although it's a week off from school for the quarter break. We still have copious amounts of work to do and it's just painful thinking about it. I've actually really begun considering life and all it's aspects ever since the beginning of grade 11 and so taking into consideration all the things we don't really care or pay attention as a kid has already set in.

Anyway...my mom and I have been trying out more places around town and we've eaten at three japanese places recently but here are pics from two! The food at both were very good and reasonable priced. Presentation and taste wise all three outlets are fantastic A++

One is on the basement 2 at Somerset 313 and the other is called 'Tsuru-koshi" on the foodhall level of Ngee Ann city (takashimaya)...

Continue below for more pictures!!

At Somerset 313...amazing Japanese food! Fried chicken, rice paper rolls and meatballs w/fish shavings...
Nothing too special...stuffed with lettuce, cucumbers, tomatos and raddish...
Now...the gyozas (japanese dumplings) were awesome....
Nice and crispy on the bottom, just how I like it....

Stuffed with pork, mushrooms, cabbage and onions....

LOTN: Smokey Purple & night out (photos!)

Just to tag onto the last post with my smokey dark blue this was something I threw together on whim with my only other mac eyeshadow...a veluxe pearl aubergine color. Rockstar!

I had an hour and this is what I came up with, spent the evening with my friend, we played pool, got some bubble tea were suppose to get her tongue pierced but couldn't because she had ulcers in her mouth.

Things used:
  • MAC carbon (black)
  • MAC rockstar (red purple)
  • rimmel exaggerate eyeliner (black)
  • Kiss me herione mascara (waterproof black)
  • Revlon colorstay mineral blush (berry shade)
  • l'oreal true match R2
  • Maybelline mineral pressed powder (OC2)

Loving the vividness of the purple....

The eyeliner and carbon shadow mix on my lower lash line smoked in a nice way by the end of the night...
No big deal or blending out...just black on the outer third to add a kick to the purple!

LOTD: Midnight Blue (photos!)

I've been inactive for a while now...things have been good and bad recently so I'm sorry to myself and anyone who's been reading! I've been really liking dark smokey eye looks but at school I'd rarely line my lower lash line because of smudging and a tendency for my eyes to water!

I did this last week and I loved how it looks. It just gives me that extra dark edginess I think we all should have.

I've thrown in a few photos of my way home that I took...so enjoy!

Things used:

  • MAC Carbon eyeshadow (black)
  • Dark shimmery navy from Maybelline 8-pan eyeshadows
  • Neutrogena eyeliner (twilight)
  • Kiss me Herione mascara (waterproof black)
  • L'oreal true match foundation (R2)
  • Clinique superbalanced pressed powder

Photos were taken at the end of the day! So the black had mixed in with the blue on the outer third and crease!

The eyeshadow and eyeliner layered looked great...

Food: Giant Peach and air dried Veggie Chips! (photos!)

Just some fun food shots of some yummy things my parents brought back from a trip in China...Funny thing is the peaches and chips were not from China! They went to a small town which I shall not disclose for property purposes but anyways, the chips were soooo good!

The giant peaches were from New Zealand but tasted very bland, nothing compared to peaches from Japan...juicy, sweet and everything a peach SHOULD be.

The vegetable chips are a product of taiwan and were delicious! Crunchy, crispy, almost lethal as the bits got stuck in my back molar!

Yes, they were BIG compared to those in Singapore!

Great for hurling at unwanted company! Hehe

Special: Photoshoot for Art (Japansese street fashion Inspired looks!!)

I've been pretty much missing for the last three weeks. School has been busy, very busy, especially for art. I take Higher Level Visual Arts and so in our last year everything we do is independent of any instructions or guidance. I'm doing two projects (finishing the second) with digital pieces or photos.

I'm looking at asian beauty and how we portray ourselves, why we go through the trouble and the effects on perception of beauty.

I've spent weekends 6,7 or 8 hours at a time doing all the make-up, hair and creative direction. It's been a lot of hard work but it's been worth it.

I hope these photos will be a treat for the eyes...All photos were taken at home, with camera help from my dad...everything else is me! All the portrait photos here are NOT edited. Except the few noted!

Please be respectful of my work! They aren't particularly great references for the trends, they are my interpretations!

I had to improvise with a table doilie and a hair band for the head piece!

LOTD: Warm neutrals and black liner (photos!)

Yay! Finally a recent post to go up! I did this look just this morning after realizing that I haven't touched any of my eyeliners in a while. I hate smudged eyeliner on the lower lashline and have been totally avoiding eyeliner there...but I do love how black eyeliner looks on me. Some warm neutrals and mascara and wham! I look Egyptian!

I plan to make pizza today at home with a friend so hopefully that should go well! Yeah, I always love dolling up for friends, gives me an excuse to use make up. Enjoy the look!

Continue below for photos!

Everything I used....except...
the MASCARA!

Quick Look: Sally Hansen Xtreme wear nail polish in 'Sugar babe' (photos!)

I've been a lover of nail polishes for the last year! I had a neutrals phase and then bright colors and now back to dark, almost black shades. If you love your neutrals with a bit of spunk, Sally Hansen's Xtreme wear in 'Sugar Babe' is a delectable sugary peach that would look lovely on most nails and skin tones.

It comes in an cylindrical bottle, slim compared to other bottles. The product itself is quite long wearing without any top and base coats (which I often/never use) I'd say at least a good 4-5 days no chipping.  I rather touch up tips that've chipped. I find chipped polish with a top coat is thick and touching up then is a hassle.

The color has fine shimmers throughout, it's a pinky peach and has a lovely consistency. I find the brush easy to use, not too thick it's long and flat which is great for smaller nails that take more precision on the sides!

Paid: $13.90 SGD (I think, for 1 bottle UP)

It's not 'cheap' but it's definitely cheaper compared to OPI in Singapore which retails at $23.90 SGD and Nicole at $17.90.

The Face Shop and Skin Food are popular choices in Singapore, plenty of colors, and very affordable! I will have some photos up sometime on my box full of face shop polish!

Love the line...has lovely basic to bold shades...

Overview: L'oreal True Match Liquid Foundation! (3 shades, swatches!)

I've been a fan of pressed powders for the last two years but ever since my skin developed dry patches I've wandered into liquids!

Who says people with oily/combi skin can't use liquid! I've only tried a few and although L'oreal has been on the market for a long time....I've only just in the recent weeks tried it out! I love their True Match foundation! (also picked up extras during a sale at Watsons! Bargain!)

This is a quick review/overview of "L'oreal true match liquid foundation!"

Continue below for the review, swatches and photos!

L'oreal true match liquid foundation in R1 rose ivory, R2 apricot ivory and N4 nude beige!

Things to review!

My blog is relatively low-key. I'm still a highschool student so yeah, I don't often get new things or dare to buy something without reading reviews or testing them out at the store....but I do have a whole bunch of things in my stash that I haven't shared yet!

I tend to procrastinate and then at the same time take way too many photos! So that's to attribute to my slow pace at times. I really want to make this blog a mix of reviews of products, looks, food, gardening and film but at the moment its beauty focused (which is fine with me).

It's actually late and I should be doing history homework but I decided to make this list just to give a little overview of things to come...

  • Make Up Forever (MUFE) aqua eyeliners (I think i have 5)
  • L'oreal True match liquid foundation (3 shades)
