Rave Review: Peripera 'I love' BB Cream!

I'm not a BB cream fan, never have been, haven't tried too many either. This BB cream from the korean cosmetics brand Peripera however has done nothing but impress me. It's full coverage, heavy duty, beige-flesh toned BB cream that is more like a thick concealer/foundation.

Those looking for heavy duty coverage must look into this affordable BB cream by Peripera, not to mention their liquid pen eyeliner is phenomenal (and I've yet to review!) I picked up the eyeliner in my haul here!

Do take a look at my review of two other BB cream products! (Vichy here & lancome BB base here!)

Packaging!

Everything about it I love. The shiny pink finish, lace pink print, font, detailed information on the SPF quality, vitamins and the translated english info on the back. It's so plush and pink, girly obviously and the box matches the tube!

*squeal* (this is not what attracted me to this product, I swear, it was after swatching that I went 'should buy!')

 Product!

The bb cream is very impressive. When I first swatched it in store, it seemed to be beigey-flesh toned and blended to a flesh neutral shade on my arm on different parts. The ashy white-pinkness of most fairer BB creams is what turns me off. Plus how brands like Garnier make such thin, liquid moisturizer types that do not give BB creams a good reputation in the western beauty sphere!

Nonetheless, I can't care how BB creams are perceived because I've never had good experiences with them although I haven't tried many.

The texture of this BB cream is thick and creamy, it blends extremely well even though it is still too fair compared to my neck/rest of my body. I use a foundation powder to buff over to set it for the entire day and that works for me.

The cream has a light sweet scent and is very easy to use from the squeeze tube, it comes out in a controlled small stream which is great. You don't need much at all to cover scars. I dab on two layers to cover my current scars and it's opaque! It's a dabbing and then light smearing motion to blend out edges to  get an even base.

In conjunction with a foundation/setting powder, I believe you can make any liquid base work for hours, however depending on how well the base conceals (eg, this covers scars completely) that will determine how long before you need to touch up with a liquid or powder later.

Before and after!
Bare skin with healing/existing scars...Before Peripera BB cream
After- Skin with two layers of Peripera BB cream! No powder yet!

Applied on my cheeks and under the nose.
After applying powder all over to even out.

UPDATE: My natural skin color as of December 2014. I can wear the Peripera I love BB cream by itself and it looks natural!
Paid: $20 SGD  or about ($15.80 USD)

Recommend: Yes! If you need heavy coverage for scars/redness I'm sure this will be perfect! You get a lot of product (50ml) and great SPF, it's very affordable too!

Repurchase: If I ever run out, yes!

Bottom line: Affordable, great texture/blending ability, amount, coverage quality, it's a great thick BB cream I'd say to try if you've got normal-oily skin!

    1. I got it at our local pharmacy here in Singapore, Watsons. I think you may have to search on asian beauty sites like SaSa or check ebay for this otherwise.

  4. I've only used one BB cream so far and it's the hot pink Skin79 one - so far, so good but I like lighter coverage and a dewy finish. I like how you've included before and after pictures, I think it looks gorgeous on your skin and still natural. :) The packaging is cute too :P xx

    1. I told ya! Hehe, I am very impressed, especially after so many lousy thin formulated ones. Do hunt! I really don't need much and it conceals very well. Can't wait to hear about that one! I've yet to get myself any holika products! I should though! :p

  6. I haven't tried BB cream because most of the reviews I've read have advised against using it if you have oily/combination skin! I have a sample somewhere so I may bite the bullet and try it.

    1. Thicker consistency from asian brand types are usually formulated for oilier skin! Just set with powder and it's perfect I say. It doesn't dry to a matte finish so powder is needed, do give it a shot, and another brand or two of bb cream! :)

  8. I've never fully understand this raving about the bb cream so i like to read that you were a bit suspiscious in the beginning! And how good to have a bb cream with a good cover!! Most of them just look like tinted moisturisers, so i'm impressed by this one!!!/Azure

  13. I just saw this brand yesterday and decided to read some reviews first before buying... and now after reading your review..I'm kind of regretting not buying this asap :) anyways great review!

  14. I just bought this! Like today! Haha. I loved it at first swatch because true to the name or "claim" it does have a heavy coverage base-wise. And it has a matte finish which is great because it's summer here now in the Philippines and my Missha perfect cover just doesn't cut it even with powder. :) Thanks for the review!!
