I picked this up along with lots of back ups in Phnom Penh Cambodia when I visited my best friend for her Graduation. I used to study there in the international school. Got this with a whole bunch of other goodies such as the Bioderma Sebium toner in (my haul here!)

Bourjois foundation/ fond de teint healthy mix in shade 52! |
Bourjois foundation/ fond de teint healthy mix in shade 52! |
The foundation cost about $19 USD which is about $23 Singapore dollars which is a lot cheaper than Bourjois foundation in Singapore! This foundation has been discontinued in singapore! |
I picked up two shades 52 and 53, they both work on me, I set them with different powders depending on how tan I am. I also picked up backups of each! |
Product and packaging!
The packaging of BHM is quite simple and very hygienic. In a plastic bottle with a pump on top, it uses a lever plate inside that pushes the product up as you use more. It's convienient and I'm not afraid of ever dropping or breaking the bottle. It's easy to see the product inside and there's lots of info about the product on the stick on the bottle.
I don't feel that there's much to say about this foundation. It's been raved about too many a time. To be frank I bought multiple bottles of this going on the word and confidence of so many other ladies saying how great it was. I'd never tried or had the chance to sample it before. However I was not dissapointed.
The consistency of this product is quite thin and it feels light on your skin but it gives great coverage and is really great at covering redness and matching light- light/medium yellow skin tones. It's really too bad there's not a range of 10-15 colors in this foundation because I'm sure it would sell.
After application, this product easily blends and dries into an almost completely matte but soft looking finish. The skin feels dry and if you like and if the weather premits, you can go without powder.
There's a very strong flowery smell but I actually like it. There's no downside I've experienced with Healthy Mix foundation and if you can find a match and have slightly oilier skin do try this out.

Comparison: Maybelline mineral liquid in OC2, BHM in shade 52 and 53, Maybelline in shade OC3! (the two shades from each brand seem to match up pretty well) |
Comparison: Peri Pera BB cream, l'oreal R2, Missha perfect cover in 27 and Bourjois HM in 52 |
Paid: $19 USD (approx. $23 Singapore, that's the same as drugstore foundations here!)
It used to be selling here in Singapore and I'm sure it sold for more than $23.
Recommend: If you have a match within their tiny 4 or 5 shade yellow toned shade range go for it!
Repurchase: Completely! So much so that I bought back ups the first time I purchased them and have not regretted it whatsoever!
Bottom line: Great yellow/beige undertones, this foundation is like a second skin. It had medium to full buildable coverage and dries to a soft matte finish. For those with oilier skin, this would be great, a touch of powder and I'm invincible!
Do you rave about Bourjois Healthy Mix?
It took me a while before getting a hold of this!
Tried it? Want it?
let me know!
Feel free to comment! Thanks so much!
Sounds like a great product. Wonderful price too.
ReplyDeleteIt is, I just wish I could find it easily!
DeleteOh I love this foundation! I have the number 52 but I have a feeling it might be a little too light for me in the summer :) Its RRP in Australia is $32 which is quite a difference from the American price! Its thin consistency makes it really easy to spread which I like. Thanks for the review :)

Same, I'm more towards 53 and slightly darker but they both work for me! love how its thin and covers well ^^
DeleteNow I really think I should get this foundation.. I have heard too much good things about it and I think I should jump into the bandwagon now. :D
ReplyDeletedo you always have to mix the color?? this could be an issue for me since I can only order it online :(
It's sooo worth it! Great for oilier skin. I'm more tan than you and 53 is best for me! You should go for 51 or 52! ^^
DeleteI love this foundation!! :) I was thinking of posting about it as well ^_^ I use shade 52 and it's such a nice finish.
ReplyDeleteYay! Great to hear you love it too!
DeleteThis foundations seem to have gotten a lot of rave reviews. I wanted to pick this up when I went to Singapore for a holiday earlier in the year but they only have one shade in the counter I went to >-<

Aww, sorry to hear! Singapores not great with keeping stock of make up for smaller brands like bourjois. You should try to get this anyway!
DeleteLove Bourjois! I've only tried the serum version but it's one of my favourite foundations, though it can start looking a bit patchy on the skin after several hours. I prefer my foundations to have a glowy finish so I'm not sure if I'd like the almost matte finish of this, but it's good that it provides quite decent coverage and cancels out redness :)
ReplyDeleteI picked it up too! Need to try it soon! I typically set my foundations quite heavily so I don't experience patchiness. It's still gives your skin a 'lit from within' look, with a soft matte finish, it's lovely, not too matte.
DeleteI LOVE this foundation! Singapore has discontinued it? :( Nooooooo
ReplyDeleteI love it too! The lady at the Bourjois section in Watsons said so! I haven't checked stand alone counters else where but that's what she said! :(
DeleteI bought it for a friend, but after seeing your review i will give it a go for myself.
ReplyDeleteHaha, that's great! It has a beautiful quality on yellow toned skin! Hope you love it too ^^
