Summer Skincare 2015: Products I'm using right now!

Summertime skincare! Yes, I know..."summer" technically is way over and many of you may be living in places where you're currently enjoying fall or autumn weather! However over here in sunny little Singapore we experience hot, humid, sunny weather all year round. Currently temperatures are usually 27-36 C and humidity is above 50% so it usually feels warmer than the actual temperature! I will never stop complaining about how hot and humid it gets because that's literally the main reason why many ladies don't wear or don't wear much make up here as we perspire like crazy and tend to have oilier skin in this climate!

Here I have an overview of the skincare/hair care products that I've been using the last few months and am currently using! For the most part my skincare stays pretty much the same all year round. I don't have any major changes due to the climate and my skin needs being the same most of the time.

Review: Cathy Doll Gluta Arbutin Peeling Gel Ocean Salt Essence!

Scrub up with Ocean Salt Essence! For those who didn't know or didn't see my travel posts, when I went to Bangkok back in January of this year I headed straight to my favorite korean beauty shop Karmart! They stock a few popular korean brands as well as the Thai brand 'Cathy Doll' which has many of their products produced in Korea! I'm absolutely a lover of Cathy Doll as they carry so many interesting skincare products, everything which is so damn affordable!

Karmart has now expanded their online store from just being for thailand to websites several region countries (check out their site here). To check out their full range on their Thai webstore just click 'continue' without choosing a country. The Singapore site has a very small range of products but I'd totally recommend checking it out or the local shops listed carrying their products! The best of course would be to buy when visiting Bangkok!

Rave Review: Banna Fruit Scrubs in Tamarind, Coconut and Pineapple!

Fruity body scrubs! As someone who doesn't use many body care products I've been trying out a lot more gels and scrubs the last two years and I particularly love scrubs and washes with fruit/plant ingredients. For those who visit beach towns in Thailand like Phuket/Krabi/Koh Samui it's a MUST to visit all the small souvenir shops as some sell these local made body products that smell so much of authentic fruit/plant ingredients!

When on my holiday in Krabi, Thailand last year I picked out three fruit based scrubs at a shop having a deal on buying three tubs! It was a shop filled with at least 15 varieties of scrubs/moisturizers, other beauty products and lots of accessories and jewelry. Even buying one would be a steal as they are sooo affordable in Thailand compared to the brands that sell similar types of products in Singapore!

Review: Boots Lavender & Lilac Body Scrub!

Therapeutic scrub! For those who like relaxing aromatic soaps, perfumes, lotions, skincare and oils...lavender is one of the most popular ingredients. My first memories of lavender is of Pamolive's body wash which is a mix of lavender and ylang ylang which is so incredibly soothing and muscle relaxing. When in the shower and using it, I'd take in deep breaths and all my muscles would just relax and my body would just feel so comfortable. I don't use many aromatic products but Lavender ones definitely work for almost everyone I know!

Boots products as of last year this time can be found at selected Guardian pharmacies all over Singapore. Only a small selection of their products are being sold and I was quite happy when I saw that their tea tree witch hazel line was here! This scrub was so affordable that I had to pick it up!

Rave Review: Queen Helene Oatmeal 'n Honey Natural Facial Scrub!

Oatmeal 'n Honey Scrub! For those who love a good rough scrub, like the very popular and super effective St. Ives Apricot scrub this is a total competitor! I've been using various versions of St. Ives Apricot scrubs and other apricot scrubs but after so many of the same type of product and scent I thought it's time to try something different!

Queen Helene finally arrived in singapore drugstores more than a year ago and I when I smelled how good the Oatmeal and Honey was I had to get it! More importantly I could see and feel that the scrub was a rough texture that I really love!

Review: Arnaud Institut Paris Gel Wash and Exfoliating Cream!

Daily facial care with Arnaud Institut! Firstly a big thank you to the company which sent me these skincare products to try! This brand from my little research is a well established long time brand from France that has a lot of research put into their formulation of their products. It reminds me a lot of brands like Avene and Bioderma. I was sent a gel wash and an exfoliating cream from their facial care line to try and I've been using them for several weeks now and am ready to report!

Review: Yves Rocher exfoliating shower gel in Blackberry!

Exfoliating Blackberry gel! For all those who have been following my blog for a while I usually don't have many skincare/body care product reviews but I'm hoping to slow increase them! I've been testing and using a lot of skincare and taking note of how they perform so that I'll be able to review them soon! This beautiful strong scented blackberry exfoliating shower gel is from Yves Rocher! I didn't plan to buy this but came across their new shop at the time in the basement of Ngee Ann city!

They have an amazing range of more usual scents and ingredients compared to The Body Shop but more importantly the prices are so much cheaper and you get the same or larger amount of product! I ended up walking out of the shop, spending less than $30 and two full sized body washes!

Review: The Face Shop Mild Papaya Peeling wash!

Peeling papaya wash! For those who have yet to try a peeling wash, it's quite an interesting thing. Quite a few of the cutesy asian brands like Etude House and The Face Shop have these gel/serumy textured face 'washes' that work as a non abrasive exfoliator. It's honestly hard to tell through use if the bits that are produced from these products are your actual dead skin or the product itself but it's still worth trying!

The Face Shop had two types of this peeling wash and I decided to go with this cheaper and also seemingly more effective one! I tested both in the store and this one produces much more peeling!

Review: Beauty Buffet Scentio Pomegranate Pearly Cream Bath & Body Gel Scrub!

Pomegranate passion! How many fruity scent crazy people do I have here? Are you like me and just about love every single fruity, fresh and sweet scent? I love fruity smells and the more natural it smells the more I love it. Beauty Buffet in Thailand carries a great range of fruit/vegetable skincare bits and I fell in love with the super strong sweet and complex pomegranate scent and had to pick up two different body products!

Check out my beauty and skincare haul from Bangkok here!

Rave review: The Body Shop Peppermint Smoothing Pumic Foot Scrub and Foot Rescue!

Peppermint foot therapy! For all of those ladies who suffer now and again from thickening heel skin and calluses or other foot related skin issues here are two products that can and will change your life! I've been using this scrub for now 5 years and the cream now and again but both products are worth the cost and worthy of being repurchased due to how effective they are!

I almost never buy anything from The Body Shop, I used to be a big fan but no more. I can buy shower gels for much cheaper and buy tea tree oil from Thursday plantation that gives you so much more product! Their body scrubs are so pricey here and you only get 200ml!

Skincare review: Scentio Apricot Sherbet Body Scrub from Beauty Buffet!

Apricot Sherbet Body Scrub! Body scrubs! It's the type of product I don't use very often and therefore I find as a treat when I do whip out my tubs of body scrub! While on holiday in Bangkok last year I picked this up at the famous Beauty Buffet skincare/make up shop!

I had so much trouble making up my mind which scrub to buy because they had 6 different version of this body scrub and I wanted them all! (Check out my holiday beauty haul here!)

NOTE: This can be purchased in Singapore from Smoochiezz beauty booths or online store for $15.90 SGD! It's double the original price but still soooo worth it!

Skincare review: Beauty Buffet Scentio Milk Plus Whitening Facial Scrub!

Milky whitening facial scrub! How would you like to have some skin care products made from milk and are brightening, whitening, softening and good for your skin? I present you the Milk Plus Bright and White line from Scentio by Beauty Buffet in Thailand!

It's an entire line of many in Beauty Buffet where all the skincare are made or have milk. I had such a hard time picking out something from the line to try but decided that a face wash was too normal and went for this super fine grained scrub!

Review: The Face Shop Smart Peeling Honey Black Sugar Scrub!

Black sugar face scrub! How does that sound to you? Scrubbing your face with black (more like brown) sugar? Well just like salt scrubs, sugar scrubs are very popular and beneficial to exfoliating and smoothing out the texture of skin!

Having used apricot kernel scrubs for many years now I'm getting bored (although it gets the job done) andso I've sttarted to buy different types of face scrubs for variety! the Face Shop has an amazing range of cleansers and scrubs and I decided to start with a very approachable sugar one!
