The last few months were both filled with eating my favorites as well as some new things and revisiting places I've loved but haven't been back to in a while!

Food Post: All things eaten during the January 2016! (Home BBQ, local delights, Thai food)

Fresh, chunky, colorful FOOD! Those who have been following me for sometime would definitely know by now that I love sharing things I've eaten! January was an amazing month for food for me and the boyfriend. We had some great variety although we didn't eat too many new things. I love a good back yard BBQ, meat that has been cooked over charcoal is just far more delicious than something from the oven. Here are snapshots from January, they aren't from that many meals but I've got multiple photos for you to drool over!

Special: Lunar New Year Celebrations, Outings and Food 2016!

Let's welcome the year of the Monkey! Happy Lunar New Year to all my fellow followers who celebrate Chinese New Year! It's that one time of the year when Chinese all over the world try to be around family to celebrate and to spend time together. As I always tell people, the Chinese New Year is like Christmas, Independence day and New Years all in one for the chinese people! For my family it's usually a private affair, my immediate family has dinner together and I love visiting Chinatown multiple times before the new year day itself as its bustling and so full of temporary shops and sellers.

This post is super photo heavy from my visits to Chinatown and the meals I had with family at home as well as at my favorite restaurants in the Chinatown area with the boyfriend!

Food Post: What I ate during for the month of August! (local Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Tacos)

Yummy, Nommy, Food! Everything delicious or that looks delicious usually tempts me in someway or another but I'll admit I've always been a sucker for savory foods more so than sweet treats! Those who have been following me for a while or who have seen my 'food posts' or posts of days out will know that I love taking photos food. I don't photograph everything though, I find it pointless to photograph everything I eat as not everything is worth documenting or sharing (but I know some people who do!!).

This food post is quite delayed as it's for the month of August! I had so many great food days in August from eating local chinese food at a new coffeeshop near my home, Thai food, really good Japanese, home made tacos, frozen pizzas and more!

Grilled prawns, mee rebus and soup buntut! June was not just an amazingly fruitful baking month when I managed to bake a few lovely cakes and cookies with my new stand mixer...I also got plenty of cooking done with my boyfriend! The majority of the meals I share tend to be ones that I've either made for the family or made with le boyfriend! June was a delicious month trying out some new dishes both at home and outside.

June was a month where my appetite for many favorites got satiated! From trying a new burger place, to a yummy fried katsu lunch, a meal at chinatown and some delicious home made meals!

Monday funday pot luck lunch with the girls!

Pot luck lunch with the girls! The last few years of my life have lacked gatherings and meals with friends and when my colleagues from my work decided to unanimously to gather for a lunch back in June we all agreed on doing a pot luck! It was such a nice day spending girl time for the first time in a while and despite being such a sociable and friendly person I've rarely gone out with friends! We all looked so forward to the lunch and boy was it a great day spent with some of the loveliest girls I've come to know!

Besides being our first gathering, it was also a mini belated birthday celebration and I made it a point to bake a chocolate cake with salted caramel frosting in the middle which was the birthday girl's favorite flavor! The cake was a first for me but with the help of my boyfriend it turned out amazing!!

Food Post: Things baked at home for June 2015! (strawberry shortcake, rainbow cookies)

Cakes and cookies! Most of you probably don't know but I finally got a stand mixer two months back! It was one of the cheapest at the appliances section and I figured that since I will not be planning to make anything fancy or complicated I didn't want my family to pay several hundred dollars. The month of June was a super fruitful one with the help of my boyfriend of course! Together we made some really yummy baked items!

Believe me when I say this was the first time I've NOT had to cream butter and sugar or whip cream by hand as we've never owned any kind of mixer, hand or stand! Even the most simple bakery tasks had to be done by hand and so now things are so much easier and faster!

Home made hot and sour soup, meat pie and tiramisu!

Soup, a pie and tiramisu! For many months my boyfriend has had cravings for hot and sour chinese soup and finally the other month I cooked the soup for my entire family to enjoy at home! It's actually super easy to make and you can decide what ingredients to add besides the basics! Also I brought a mince meat filling which my boyfriend and I stewed for hours with wine and stock to make a fresh pie for my boyfriend's family as well as a tiramisu for dessert!

Wraps, roasts and baked goodies! Oh how I wish I could've even shared just a little bit of the delicious dishes, meals and baked goods I made and enjoyed last month! May was a fantastic month of home cooking! I also am glad to say now that I'm almost definitely addicted to making home made salsa and wraps! Oh there's just nothing more fun and fresh than putting together a wrap filled with freshly prepped/cooked ingredients and then eating the damn thing!

May was also a good month in the baking department as now we finally have a brand new wall oven and also a few weeks ago we got our delivery of a stand mixer! It was the cheapest proper stand mixer on sale but I'm happy and it does the job!

My first home made Tiramisu!

Dreamy Tiramisu!   I've always wondered why people seem to get all starry-eyed over tiramisu and always never understood what made it so popular...that was until I made this bad boy at home with the boyfriend! My grandma's and mother's love of tiramisu was why I chose to make this dessert, also our home's in wall large oven was out of order since the end of December! As of two weeks ago we finally have a new oven and it's been fabulous. Now more about this tiramisu!

Foodie day: 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken and a BBQ at home!

Crispy chicken and a BBQ! As many of you know, my blog is frequented by two main things: beauty things and foodie things! Today I bring you two food occasions that I had last month, firstly an at home BBQ I had with my boyfriend and a delicious fast food meal at a fried chicken place that's super popular in Singapore!

Having a BBQ with friends and family is a common weekend of occasion meal which many singaporeans like to have however it's not something I do more than twice a year usually despite having a garden with my home!

Food post: Mini banana chocolate muffins and home made pizza!

Straight out of the oven! Here I bring you just two things I baked sometime ago! I love using our big wall oven but it's been out cold and not working for the last two months so I haven't been able to bake any cookies, cakes and whole chickens! Really bummed but it should be fixed in the next month so I'll be bake baking! We have a small table top oven which will make do!

Here my boyfriend and I made pizzas and I made mini banana muffins to bring to work! The boyfriend loves making home made dough, the type that is meant to rise over night slowly in the fridge and then proofed again the next day giving us a strong, lovely crust!

10 Things: I Love Eating!

Things I love eating! After reading another fellow bloggers post about foods she'd rather not eat I realized that I HAD to do a post about all the foods I love to eat. I pretty much will eat almost anything that's cooked and tasty. I like all types of flavors, spices, cooking techniques and cuisines. It's almost hard for me to think of food I don't like!

In the past I wrote a post called "10 Things: I wish I knew about make up as a Teen" (see it here!) and so I thought I'd be extending the '10 Things' series on my blog with this post of things I love eating!

Food Post: Things baked in November/December 2014! (cake, cookies, cupcakes)

Year end home baked goodies! Since last year it's become a habit for me to bake more towards the end of the year. The blogsphere towards year end is just flooded by tutorials and recipes and posts of beautifully decorated cakes, sweet home made desserts, cakes, pies and everything yummy! Last year my boyfriend and I made cookies and cranberry buns around the end of the year which I featured in a similar year end baking post! (See the full post here!)

This year I tried to step it up a bit and although I didn't bake many items I think the quality of everything was really good! For those who missed my recent home made cinnamon sugar rolls post (see it here!) Also if you'd like to see my banana muffins and cream custard pie (see it here!)

Home made: Brown Sugar Cinnamon rolls and Apple Sauce!

Want some BUNS HUN? Hahaha...yeah...I can't help but to hear some of Nicki Minaj's song in my head every time I heard the word 'buns' now! I'm no fan of hers but she is legitimately talented. Something which is plenty popular this time of year are home made rolls/buns! I've seen sooo many bloggers show their beautifully made cinnamon, apple butter, peanut butter, chocolate and cream rolls and now it's my turn!

This recipe is from the famous Alton Brown which my boyfriend pulled for us to use! The recipe is a simple cinnamon sugar, so I made my own homemade apple sauce to be served on the side!
