Summer Skincare 2015: Products I'm using right now!

Summertime skincare! Yes, I know..."summer" technically is way over and many of you may be living in places where you're currently enjoying fall or autumn weather! However over here in sunny little Singapore we experience hot, humid, sunny weather all year round. Currently temperatures are usually 27-36 C and humidity is above 50% so it usually feels warmer than the actual temperature! I will never stop complaining about how hot and humid it gets because that's literally the main reason why many ladies don't wear or don't wear much make up here as we perspire like crazy and tend to have oilier skin in this climate!

Here I have an overview of the skincare/hair care products that I've been using the last few months and am currently using! For the most part my skincare stays pretty much the same all year round. I don't have any major changes due to the climate and my skin needs being the same most of the time.

Review: The Face Shop Mango Seed Cleansing Butter!

Mango Seed Cleansing Butter! Some months ago all The Body Shop's Camomile Cleansing balm was all I was seeing around and although I could get this here in store the price is just so ridiculously pricey that I decided on never picking it up. However I have to admit that I would like to try it, if only there was a smaller size on sale! Hence when I saw this cleansing butter from The Face Shop and it was half the price of The Body Shop's I had to pick it up to try!

In comparison to the Camomile balm, this is a 'butter' as it's more of a thick whipped buttery texture whereas The Body Shop's is a solid balm which isn't cream on touch. I knew I wasn't trying something that's a dupe but I just couldn't resist the mango seed scent!

Review: Arnaud Institut Paris Gel Wash and Exfoliating Cream!

Daily facial care with Arnaud Institut! Firstly a big thank you to the company which sent me these skincare products to try! This brand from my little research is a well established long time brand from France that has a lot of research put into their formulation of their products. It reminds me a lot of brands like Avene and Bioderma. I was sent a gel wash and an exfoliating cream from their facial care line to try and I've been using them for several weeks now and am ready to report!

Rave review: Shiseido Ibuki Purifying Cleanser!

Ibuki Purifying Cleanser! For those who aren't aware many asian skincare lines have several types of cleansers...usually there's a 'gentle' one and a 'purifying' one. I have used up two types of cleanser from Shiseido's more affordable line Aqua label and they were damn amazing. I decided it was about time to buy one from Shiseido!

I've been eyeing products from the Ibuki range which is targeted for youth and ladies in their 20s. I knew I wanted something that could take off make up besides being a face wash so I knew I had to get the purifying cleanser!

Skincare review: The Face Shop Smart Peeling Jelly Apple Peeling wash!

Jelly Apple wash! I'm someone who is easily fascinated by products that use plant or fruit extracts or ingredients, I guess we just all like to think that if it has something natural in it, it should be good for us! I have been trying out a couple different jelly 'peeling' face washes which are meant to help exfoliation of the top layer of dead skin cells without being rough on the skin. This was the first of a few I've tried so far.

Skincare: The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Rice Bran Cleansing Foam!

Rice Bran cleansing foam! I'm a fan of products using extracts or natural ingredients like vegetables, fruits and other things like such. Being chinese I've been told by so many fellow family members and hear about how rice, rice water, rice milk are used and how they can help. Personally I do enjoy using things with 'natural' ingredients although I know they are only garnishing the main ingredients most of the time.

While browsing The Face Shop some time back, I was just strictly looking at the skin care and decided that since I was almost done using up all my cleansers I though I'd get this rice bran foaming cleanser to try!

Last Quarter Skincare 2013: What I'm using right now!

My basic skincare items! Hello ladies, my blog has always meant to be more beauty oriented and it's not really my habit to talk about my haircare or skin care. However I received an e-mail from a teenage reader of mine who came across my blog who asked about some skincare help and after replying her I realized that I should now and again show you ladies what I'm using or the types of things I'd reach for!

These are just an array of products I would use in my routine, I don't use all at the same time or only just use singular products by themselves. I'm always switching up or alternating between two in each category because of the change in condition of my skin during the month. Remember to give 4-6 weeks to be able to tell how the product is contributing to any improvements. Unless your skin gets irritated or reacts negatively very quickly!

Skincare review: La Roche-Posay Toleriane Softening Foaming Gel!

Gentle foaming gel! I've not always been a fan of these 'soft' on the skin type of cleansers but ever since trying Hada Labo AHA/BHA foam cleanser (my review here!) and Avene Gel cleanser (my review here!) this one from La Roche-Posay jumped out at me.

I've had very good experiences with face cleansers which are soap free and scent free, I found that besides being gentle they don't leave the skin tight and have helped my skin improve or maintain a good condition.

Skincare review: Avene Cleanance purifying lotion and gel cleanser!

Soap free skin goodness! My mother has been swearing by a line of skincare by this french brand Avene. There's actually and accent in the 'e' in the name but I'm not so bothered to get the letter right! She uses the line with rich creams and milky toner for her mature skin.

I've went through a few bottles of both the gel cleanser and mattifying toner by now. I initially bought them when I lived in Cambodia a few year back but only got to utsing them last year. This skin care
line is for oilier skin and hence the 'mattifying' and 'soapless' formulas.

Skin care review: Ducray Keracnyl foaming gel!

Soap free gel cleanser! Its been something I've been going through the last few months. I find soap free, gel type cleansers to be very gentle and great for oilier skin. I decided after using Hada labo AHA/BHA cleanser for several months that I wanted to try something else.

I purchased this at Guardian Pharmacy here in Singapore!
