FOTD: Glistening peach mocha eyes and a sheer pink lip!

Glistening peach mocha eyes! And here comes the end of January! It's crazy that the month is already over and also a very Happy Lunar New Year to all those who celebrate! I spent the whole day out visiting family and having a lunch gather with my father's side of the family. Then we visited my mother's mom later in the late evening.

For most of the free days I do have to do my make up in the last few months I've been doing a lot of colorful looks. Hence for a break, I've been doing some neutral looks! Lots of shimmers of course and not just browns!

Special: Decemeber meet up with old highschool friends!

Meeting up with old friends! Hello ladies! It's the eve of Chinese new year or the lunar new year and I'm about to go down to have the traditional 'reunion' dinner with my family. Near the end of December my boyfriend and I met up with two friends from highschool who were visiting Singapore!

We met up in the Orchard area and bought bubble milk tea, walked around and caught up with what we've been doing. It was definitely a nice break from our ever busy lives to catch up with old friends who are now in so many different corners of the world.

Empties: MEGA empties post for December!

Mega empties for the month of December! Yes, I know it's already almost the end of January but here's a giant clean out I did for the whole month of December. I threw out products I finished, as well as things I have had too long in my collection as well as lots of samples and masks.

I really want to keep my collection small and rotating and not end up like some ladies with giant collections where they keep on 'discovering' products they forget they had! Hope this month has been good for everybody. I'm keeping personal spending down to a minimum so I can take a short deserved holiday soon with my boyfriend!

Review: Bourjois Smoky Eyes in Vert Trendy (Green trio)!

Bourjois Smoky Green trio! Recently some weeks ago I pulled out this old trio I picked up from Bourjois quite sometime ago and I used every shade in this trio for a dramatic look! I've always had eyes for the shadows from bourjois but my previous experience with their older formula single shadows was quite 'meh' although some shades had  a serious kick. The new reformulated ones are very pigmented and smooth but I haven't picked up any yet.

Food: My December cookies! (sugar, chocolate chip, peanut butter, cranberry bread)

Cookie time! I decided many days in december to baking different types of cookies and goods for the first time the whole year of 2013. I do bake occasionally but it's not very often, hence after seeing a couple ladies in the blogsphere baking goodies for Christmas last Decemeber it inspired me to try baking a bunch of cookies!

I decided to do some soft chocolate chip, sugar cookies, soft peanut butter cookies and cranberry rolls! My boyfriend was with me with I baked the bread as he's the bread fanatic and really helped me pretty much make it!

Afternoon at the Beach and Krispy Kreme Doughuts!

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts! Not a very commonly eaten pastry here in Asia, the only doughnuts I knew of growing up were big spongey, holey, airy chewy sugar coated ones from local bakeries that resemble very little of the ones in the US! In asia the doughnut craze has made bakeries in Taiwan, China and Singapore to come up with the cutest, most colorful and pretty things!

When Singapore found out that Krispy Kreme was coming into our little Island the hype was major! Their new store is located at the basement of Tangs shopping center in Orchard road. The line the first two days were endless. People waited for 30mins to 2 hours to get a doughnut!

Haul: Sleek i-divine Snapshots palette, blush in Antique and face contour kit!

Sleek haul! Yes, these items were part of the last make up products I bought last year in my Sleek order! I finally caved and decided to pick up the blush that was part of the Vintage Romance palette which I love (my review here), another palette after much thought and the face contour kit as I'd heard so much good about it!

I used to lust after almost every palette from Sleek but finally after much contemplation and looking through what I have, I decided to go ahead and buy the very colorful Snapshots palette!

Skincare review: Garnier light brightening eye roll-on!

Brightening Roll-On! Have you had those days when you wake up and have slight puffiness under your eyes? Having late nights, maybe a lack of some sleep and then having some darker under eyes? We all suffer from under eye puffiness if not darkness at some time. I've always heard so much about roller ball products from the affordable like this one from Garnier all the way to Estee Lauder in the high end category!

I realized I've never tried an under eye roller for puffiness and immediately jumped on this affordable one at the super market! It's been an interesting while using this but I'm ready to share my thoughts now!

Review: Gosh Multicolour Blush in 50 Pink Pie!

Gosh it's Gorgeous! Have you ever just walked past a product on display and just had to stop, had to walk back, had to touch it and had to buy it?? I did with this Gosh blush!

When Gosh showed up in Singapore's Sasa beauty shops, the one product that stood out that I thought would be a great edition was this blush quad! I was struck by the shades, they are all shades I love using individually and swatched together it's amazing!

Food: Our Chinese Christmas Dinner 2013!

Chinese Christmas Dinner! Happy January everybody! I've just transferred to another section in my current apprenticeship kitchen and I'm slowly settling. I hope the first month has been going well for everybody! I've been trying very hard not to buy make up this month but I will be breaking that promise soon with the latest sleek palette! It's just to beautiful to pass on!

I've seen so many lovely festive dinners over the last month on everyone's New Years and Christmas posts. I spent my christmas eve and new year's night with my boyfriend but spent Christmas night with my family having a lovely Chinese meal out!

Daiso haul: False Lashes!

Daiso false lashes! Who doesn't love some cheapo false lashes that do the same job as really pricey ones! I've been admiring and slightly lusting after 'mink' lashes but everytime I know that I can't be bothered as at the end of the day I rarely wear false lashes and don't want to spend so much.

I didn't realize that false lashes were so expensive overseas as here in Asia, Singapore, Taiwan, China, Korea...they are sold in packs of pairs of 2-10 or even 15 pairs! Hence they are cheaper as well as made here in this region! Asians are obsessed with big bright eyes so most lashes here are made with that in mind!

Rave Review: Clio Gelpresso Waterproof Pencil Gel Liners in shade 7 and 13!

Gel my liner all the way! Ever since I've purchased two of these Gelpresso gel eyeliners last year, they are so good that I ended up buying two more a few months ago! This is the first eyeliner ever that I've worn in the lower waterline that looks amazing while it lasts and also when it starts to fade. There's absolutely no smudging when it does begin to come off!

Clio has brought in more products into their range in the middle of last year and there were 3 or 4 new shades added to their gel eyeliner collection sold here! The new shades make up the eye look on the new packaging!

Overview: My current lipbalms!

Balmy love! Are you a lover and user of lipbalms as much as I am? Even if you don't suffer form dry lips, the lipbalm is like a sacred piece of make up/skincare. Every girl has used one, has carried one and has wanted one. It's usually one of the first pieces of 'make up' that us girls get to buy ourselves or are given by our friends or mothers. I've used lipbalms since I was 7 or 8 years old.

My first lipbalm was Vaseline Lip therapy liquid vaseline and then followed by some Nivea lipbalms and finally lip Ice! I've loved any lip balm that has slip, is moist and leave my lips feeling hydrated. I suffer from always slightly dry lips that peel and flake a lot even with daily exfoliation. Hence it is so important that I keep my lips moist.

Rave Review: Maybelline The False Lash Volum' Express!

Give me False Lashes! Oh hello Maybelline! I don't know about you ladies but as an Asian gal with thin, short flimsy lashes it can be very difficult to find a mascara that really gives me thicker, longer and curler lashes that hold and are resistant to my oily skin and smudging onto my tiny folds in my lids!

Maybelline has always been a brand that some how worked for me and seemingly so many other Asian ladies. There's just something about their formulation and the brushes (although they're quite large) that just works like magic!

First look with Sleek i-Divine Snapshots palette!

Bright eyes with the Snapshots palette! Happy January ladies! This is another recent palette I acquired in December! In the last bunch of make up items I purchase at the end of year I decided after comparing for a very long time that out of all the rest of the Sleek palettes I don't own I had to have this one because of the shade selection!

I'm so smittened by the bright shades in this palette, plus how most of them are shimmery just the way I love my eyeshadows. For a first look I jumped straight into my favorite shades, the green, blue and teal! Although I haven't posted the haul with the palette I just need to share this look!

Chinatown lunch with Dad!

Lunch in Chinatown! Yes, there is a Chinatown even in Singapore, a place where at least 50% of the population is of Chinese origin! Our Chinatown is not as huge and extensive with housing full of chinese immigrants like in other countries in the world. Ours is more of a heritage area with lots of cafes, restaurants and shops selling lots of interesting knacks and traditional and common things.

Last month in December (OMG, that was a month ago??) I had a rare day out with dad. The day was meant to change my phone, an upgrade essentially as my phone was really having trouble lasting more than a few hours and I did have it for just about two years! It was time to change!

Review: The Face Shop Smart Peeling Honey Black Sugar Scrub!

Black sugar face scrub! How does that sound to you? Scrubbing your face with black (more like brown) sugar? Well just like salt scrubs, sugar scrubs are very popular and beneficial to exfoliating and smoothing out the texture of skin!

Having used apricot kernel scrubs for many years now I'm getting bored (although it gets the job done) andso I've sttarted to buy different types of face scrubs for variety! the Face Shop has an amazing range of cleansers and scrubs and I decided to start with a very approachable sugar one!

Haul: Dog treats!

Doggie treats! How about something a little not so regular on my blog...here's a pet treat haul! We rarely buy treats for our two dogs, a husky and a 10kg mix terrier but when we do, we haul in bulk because we stock up for a few months! In singapore there are independent pet stores and "Pet Lovers" pet stores which is a franchaise.

Here my mom and I decided to buy a bunch of dry biscuit treats for our dogs on one big visit to the best store! Using certain credit cards you get the same discount as a member and they often has sales of 10-30% of certain groups of brands every few months.

Review: Catrice Defining Blush single in 050 Apricot!

Apricot flush! Out of all the shades my eyes have come across when I was younger, I never ever thought that I'd buy orange or coral shade blushes in the future. As a child I really liked watching my mother putting on her coral, red or pink lipstick and realized that she only wore coral blush as she's a bit tan and it suited her! I just thought that coral and orange shades wouldn't work one me but years later and some gorgeous peaches later...here's an awesome affordable blush!

For my rave reviews on some of their other shades Rose Royce (my review here) and Rosewood Forest (my review here)!

Rave review: ZA Perfect Fit two way foundation in OC 10!

ZA Perfect Fit Foundation! This IS my perfect pressed foundation powder! Having used this for the last two years I think I've gone through at least 15 refills (I really should've just collected them all). Out of all the drugstore brand pressed powders, this has the best color match, coverage and long wearing non-transfer quality I've seen of all of them...plus a large amount of product!

The brand ZA is a sister company with Majolica Majorca, UV White and Aqua Label, both which are under Shiseido (NARS and Bare Escentuals are also under them) so they've made it so that the pressed powder size and compacts across all the brands are interchangeable.

Note: I am currently the shade OC 00!

Review: Maybelline Pure BB Mineral Watergel in 02 Medium Beige!

Pure Mineral BB Watergel! Having seen so many reviews of such lovely looking BB and CC creams last year I sometimes feel like I'm really missing out on so many brands! I right now rotate between a Missha, Peripera, The Face Shop and sometimes a Lioele BB cream. They are all medium to full coverage but I've realized that I prefer medium coverage as I really don't need full coverage at all.

While browsing Maybelline two months ago in store I saw this new BB from them which is advertised as a 'watergel'. A formulation supposed to be thinner and hence more gel and natural feeling on the skin.

Rose gold smoke!

Rose gold lids! If my memory serves me right, it's definitely been a year or two since rose gold has been trending and very popular in make up, jewelry, fashion and just as a shade! The typical rose gold is a good blend of a soft coral and gold which makes it one of the most wearable shades on the eyes, lips and cheeks! Here's my interpretation of a rose gold smokey eye!

This is a shade that I definitely have been only wanting to get and use more of as time goes by! I now covet the rose gold blush from sleek and now this beautiful shadow!

Taiwanese noodle shop!

Taiwanese noodle adventures! After eating at most of the restaurants and outlets at NEX shopping mall in north Serangoon which is about 20 minutes away from me I decided I wanted to go somewhere else to find dinner! NEX is an amazing place for families and young people for shopping and food! There are so many places to eat there! Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Indian, Indonesian, Western, fast food...so much but I wanted to go somewhere else!

I remembered driving by further up the road from NEX with my dad and that there were so many coffee shops and other places to find dinner. Hence I decided on the spur of the moment to take the bus up the road with my boyfriend to look for dinner!

Special: Christmas Beauty Swap with Jade in the Palace!

Christmas Beauty Blogger Swap! Happy new year everybody! I spent my new year's eve having a mexican make-it-yourself wrap dinner at my beautiful boyfriends! He spent the afternoon cooking, making frozen blend magaritas and I had a morning shift at work so I made it for dinner and also got my belated christmas present!

After doing a swap with Pam from Jade in the Palace Beauty blog earlier this year (check out our swap here), I proposed to do another swap for christmas! As of now even though I sent my package a weeek earlier, Pam's package has been held up most likely by the post office in Germany!
