Review: Catrice Defining Blush single in 060 Rosewood Forest!

Rosewood lover! Hey ladies! This has been a long week, a six day week at work which isn't ending until thursday this week. Count that and I'm going on working 10 days without rest.I'm at least grateful that the section I'm working in at my internship site is not too laborious and physically exhausting!

Heads up to some of my favorite blushes now of all time. The defining singles from Catrice have won me over. I bought one shade for a start, Rose Royce (my review here!) which is now one of my top blushes, a beautiful slightly coral rose shade and then since then I've went back and picked up 3 more shades!

Continue below for the review!

Packaging & Product!

Simple, sleek, compact, clear and well labelled, there's no big problems with the packaging except that if it falls and the plastic holding the hinge cracks you'll be losing the snap shut cover. Other than that which is the case that you don't drop your blush this packaging gives you a great 5 grams of product more than most western drugstore companies as well as being very easy to chuck into a make up bag or to see what shade is inside.

The product compared to my favorite lancome blush in Rose Sable is quite a match. These blushes are so pigmented, silky smooth and fine textured. Due to how most of them in the regular line don't have shimmer but more of a soft glow it's very versatile on different skin types. The only down side I can think of is lasting power. They are like normal blushes that wear off with touching, rubbing or sweating throughout the day however I almost never touch up my blush so it's not a problem for me.

The shade of Roswood Forest is a deeper plummy colored rose shade. It almost is a light berry like shade, I bet this would look amazing on tanner and much deeper skin tones! Olive skintones too! Maybe a bit too strong for the fair and pale, unless you go with a light hand and a very fluffy brush!

Swatches of Catrice Defining Blush single in 060 Rosewood Forest
Wearing  Catrice Defining Blush single in 060 Rosewood Forest and a touch of canmake cheek highlighter on the cheekbones!
Paid:$6.90 SGD or about $5.40 USD ( This is unreal!! All drugstore blushes from Maybelline, revlon, l'oreal are betweeen $18-22 SGD)

Recommend: Yes! For the amount and quality you can't find any other brands at the moment at the drugstore here that gives you the same for the price.

Repurchase: Yes! There are only 6 shades, I've picked up 4 so far and am loving them all! I don't think I'll be getting the other 2 left as I'm not a fan of baby doll pinks or very tan brown cheek shades!

Bottom line: Beauttiful pigmented plummy rose shade, use a light hand and a fluffy small blush brush, this is such a versatile and perfect shade for my taste. I love how it's soo damn cheap here compared to everything else from the drugstore and yet no quality is compromised!

Do you have a thing for plummy rose berry cheek shades?
What do you normally reach for on a normal day?
Let me know!

Thank you!

  2. Wow, it certainly is much more affordable than US drugstore brands :) The blush looks like a very autumnal colour but very pretty on your cheeks. Your skin always looks super flawless in your photos. I tend not to go for plummy colours (though I do have NARS Sin and Benefit Dallas) as I find there's always the risk of looking slightly bruised if you accidentally overdo it, but when it's done right and the shade flatters your skin tone, it's a welcome change from the usual pinks/peaches that tend to dominate the blush category.

    1. Especially compared to Australia! Yes, I think on lighter skin this could be too much and it's an easier deeper shade to try!

  5. This blush looks amazing - the quality, the amount, the price, and the colour. Rosewood forest looks stunning on you as well! I'm not sure how well this shade would suit me as I tend to shy away from anything similar in this range and stick to the safe pink and peach colours, but if I could get my hands on this then I certainly wouldn't mind giving it a try. :)
