Rave review: Addiction by Ayako single eyeshadow in Nostalgia 015P!

Bring out the Nostalgia! For those who may have missed out, I did a big year end haul some time ago where I showed a bunch of products my best friend sent me from a Japanese brand called Addiction by Ayako. This brand can be purchased by those not in Japan from ichibankao.com. This brand was created by someone who used to work for NARS so there are similarities when it comes to packaging. I got my friend to get me me range of products to try which included this gorgeous single shadow.

Packaging & Product!

Much like many other high end Japanese brands, the packaging of Addiction's make up is clean, simple, all black and very functional. There tends to be two very distinct types of packaging, the very girly, feminine, overly detailed or the plain, sleek, all one color packaging. Addiction's products all come in a shiny finish black packaging which keeps clean of finger marks and product smears. The standard label sticker of the shade name, amount of product and etc are found on the bottom of the case.

There literally is nobody on the entire internet who has posted about these single shadows like the lady behind "drivel about frivol", her blog is amazing. She has a long post with swatches of almost every shade of Addiction's single shadows and she left me drooling over which shade to get my best friend to help me get! (Check out her long post of Addiction shadows) I knew that I wanted something neutral but also something not so plain so when I laid eyes on this gorgeous shade...nostalgia I knew if my friend could get it...I had to have it!

In person this shade is so much prettier than in other photos I've seen. There's this depth, this richness and complexity to this shade which is very much a light-medium type neutral shade. Nostalgia is a nutty taupe with less gray and very beautiful lavender/silvery type of iridescent. The shadow itself isn't the softest or creamiest but it has gorgeous pigmentation when applied with a denser brush. This particular has me so entranced that I'll always wear it alone on my lids. It brightens up the eyes and gives the lids the lightest depth.

Above and below wearing only Nostalgia on my lids. This shade has a gorgeous slightly translucent quality while being 'solid' in its pigmentation. I love how glowing Nostalgia is and how it's gorgeous on its own.

Paid: 2,160 Japanese Yen or about $27 SGD or $20 USD

Recommend: Yes. If you are able to get any of these single shadows or plan to order them online, I'd give you the green light! Do go for a shade that you will use plenty of and if it's a neutral it would most likely be a great single shadow lid shade!

Repurchase: Yes, if I get the chance I totally would love to get another brightening shade or a dark gray shimmery one!

Bottom line: It's hard to judge an entire line of single shadows from just one, however from my experience with this one shadow it's a total love to use. The color, the complexity and how simple it is to use makes it such a joy that I think if anyone were to get a neutral type shade you would be just as happy as I am.

What single shadows do you have in your collection?
