Thai food at Nakhon Kitchen, desserts at Hatter Street and Chinatown!

Food and friends! I'm sure many of you would agree that nothing is better than food and friends! The older I get I realize how precious time is and as it turns out, when ever the opportunity does come to meet up/catch up with friends it's usually done over a meal or some coffee. Some months ago in the summer before schools and university normally begins my boyfriend and I met up with an old favorite teacher of ours and a friend from school who was visiting Singapore!

We meet up and went to have a delicious thai meal at a place that I'd heard so much about but never visited yet! Nakhon Kitchen is known for affordable and super authentic thai food and it did not disappoint! It was so great just to be able to chat non-stop about the going ons, asking each other how we've been doing and what's been going on as it's been years since we all were in the same space!

Continue below for the lovely meals!

Delicious thai food at Nakhon Kitchen! Nothing better than good food and old friends!
Nakhon Kitchen! Now with several outlets across Singapore!
The most delicious authentic strong ice thai milk tea and lemongrass tea!
Thai green mango salad at Nakhon Kitchen! Spicy, crunchy, fresh and so good!
Sweet and sour pork at Nakhon Kitchen! So crispy, juicy, tasty and good! A classic favorite asian dish!
Pineapple fried rice at Nakhon Kitchen! Popularly served with pork floss here in singapore!
Red beef curry at Nakhon Kitchen! So balanced, creamy, salty, tasty, tender and filled with vegetables!
Juicy pieces of beef and yummy small eggplants and long green beans!
An overall shot of all the delicious food we ate at Nakhon Kitchen!
Later after the meal I got us all some desserts at another popular place just round the corner called Hatter Street! Here is a slice of their oreo cheesecake!
Hatter Street cafe, their kamquat tart! Absolutely delicious and so tasty and tarte!
A rose lychee and match mousse cake! So delicate, fragrant and yummy, if only all the cake slices at Hatter Street were larger! They were all TINY and all $7 a slice!
Our trio of cakes at Hatter Street! The oreo cheesecake, kamquat tart and lychee rose matcha cake slices!
A shot of all four of us together!
After the hours spent catching up and then some walking around the popular 24 mall in Little Indian called Mustafa, the boyfriend and I headed into Chinatown to eat our favorite chinese food! Here's a gorgeous plate of beef tripe!
Chewy, salty, tasty, sour, spicy and numbing from the chinese dried peppers!
Classic yang chow fried rice which really varies from outlet to outlet! This one was absolute perfection! Fluffy but not too moist, filled with egg, juicy prawns and so tasty!
Double fried pork slices with sweet and juicy leeks!
Crispy, tender, caramelized and so perfect with rice!
Lastly a small steamer of xiao long bao as I was still hungry! These are pretty decent although lacking the soup inside that I normally look forward to!

When was the last time you caught up with friends over food?
Do you prefer thai or chinese food?
Let me know!

  3. This post is just drool worthy! Choosing between Thai and Chinese food is super hard. Both have such a variety of flavours and dishes that they are both equal in my heart haha

  4. Hi Sharlynn,

Good food are the best with best companions :D What a nice place to dine... I don't mind both Chinese and Thai food. Both places look great but sad that the xiao long bao are kind of "leaky" :p
