Rave Review: Lady Oscar La Rose de Versailles Liquid Eyeliner in Black!

New favorite eyeliner! Today I'll be bringing to me blog an eyeliner that I've been using for a few months that can easily take over my holy grail Kiss me heroine eyeliner! I found this in the Japanese eyeliner/mascara section of Watsons and this brand is also Japanese which gave me confidence that it would be another awesome eyeliner.

This style of eyeliner is the type that I always buy, a pen form with a fine brush tip! For those interested in a review of my holy grail eyeliner (see here)!

Lady Oscar La Rose de Versailles Liquid Eyeliner in Black! Like most japanese brand eyeliners, the tip is a super fine 0.1mm, this is black and waterproof!
Lady Oscar La Rose de Versailles Liquid Eyeliner in Black! I thought the character on the packaging reminded me of a anime of a french royal! Especially with all the roses I think of gardens!

Packaging & Product!

The exterior packaging of this eyeliner is very much like most Japanese eyeliners which is a bit bulky, fancy/ overly done design and very eye catching. I personally don't find this packaging as an issue as the actual design of the eyeliner itself is simple, sleek and much like most other pen eyeliners from Japanese brands.

I really appreciate how Japanese eyeliners that sell in Singapore have a full detailed translation of the ingredients/description in english on the back of the packaging. The actual eyeliner is the exact same size an shape as the same type of eyeliner from Kiss me Heroine, K-palette and Heavy Rotation.

This product although you'd think may just be like any other black liquid pen eyeliner really is one of the best ones I've tried. Firstly, the brush tip of this is super fine giving you the ability to go from super fine to layered up thick. The color of this eyeliner is a good solid black and the finish is a slight sheen. I find that the product flows extremely well from the pen through the brush tip, you'd never need to shake the brush to get more product.

There is absolutely no dragging on application, the color is solid with one run of the pen tip and you don't need to go over your first line for a solid black color. I wear this exactly the way I have used all my other eyeliners for my upper lid and this lasts all day long and does not budge. Do take note that 95% of the time I wear this on top of eyeshadows so I believe this helps to prolong how well it wears over time.

Swatches of Lady Oscar La Rose de Versailles Liquid Eyeliner in Black!: A fine line, one normal swipe, two swipes and then three swipes!
Wearing Lady Oscar La Rose de Versailles Liquid Eyeliner in Black! A shorter fatter flick!
Wearing Lady Oscar La Rose de Versailles Liquid Eyeliner in Black! A longer sharper slimmer wing!
Wearing Lady Oscar La Rose de Versailles Liquid Eyeliner in Black! A thin line along the lash line!

Compared to others I've tried for example, K-palette is not as solid black in color and it dried up in less than 5 months. Heavy rotation also dried out pretty fast and the tip of the brush stopped staying sharp after use.

This eyeliner is however most similar to my current holy grail eyeliner which is solid black, stays all day without fading, has a sharp tip and last for at least 5 months before drying out/being used up.

Paid: About $18 SGD or about ($13.20 USD)

(Purchased at Watsons, you can buy this on ebay/amazon)

Recommend: Yes. This eyeliner is simply fantastic. As someone who uses this type of eyeliner every time I do my make up I honestly can say that this is one of the best I've tried.

Repurchase: Yes! I totally can't wait to repurchase this!

Bottom line: A super eyeliner, it performs amazingly. Solid black, slight sheen of a finish, long lasting, great sharp brush tip, easy to use and of the same price range as other normal eyeliners in Singapore. I totally recommend anyone who's looking for an eyeliner to check this out!

Are you a lover of brush tip eyeliners too?

  3. I love the tip of this eyeliner ♥♥♥ I have been using more gel liners these days so I am not a huge huge fan of liquid eyeliners anymore, but if I choose to use you, it would definitely be one like this one. I love that it gives you from such a thin line to a thick line, arghh love this! P.S love your wing liner ;) so perfect!

  4. Oh thanks for the review! I am currently looking for an alternative to my Clio Kill Black pen eyeliner. That one is great too! Have you tried it?
The Dolly Wink doesn't really work for me though a lot of people love it.. But the one you gave me ( from Kiss Me Heroine ) was also my fave, but it is hard to get, even on ebay :/

  5. I always purchase the k palette eyeliner and have been finding discrepancies between pens. Some are blacker than others :(. I haven't heard of this eyeliner before but I'm glad you reviewed it! If it's a comparable price to the k palette one, I think I will try it! Do you know a website selling it? Or should I try eBay?

  6. My favorite is Stila's Stay All Day Liner, but I'm trying out Marc Jacob's liquid liner. So far, kinda iffy applicator but the formula is fantastic.

Lady Oscar packaging always gives me a little giggle because it reminds me of some old manga designs.
