Rave Review: Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine lipstick in 16 Orange Impertinent and 6 Pink in Devotion!

Rouge Volupte Shine Lipsticks! For all those who are already fans and maybe are a bit over these YSL lippies...I am sooo not. They aren't something I use all the time but after my experience with my first two Radiant lipsticks from them I just had to go and get more from the line. Do check out my review of my first two Rouge Volupte Radiant lipsticks in nude beige and fetish pink here!

Once again these two lipsticks were picked up at Singapore Changi Airport while I was at duty free! The price difference of this in store and at duty free here is about $13 SGD so it's a great save! I swatched plenty of shades but many were sold out. I ended up getting one for me and one for mom!

Yve Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine lipstick. Everything about the packaging is the same compared to the Radiant lipstick except that the color band has a glossy finish to go with the 'shine' lipstick whereas the Radiant lipstick has a cream finish band.

Packaging & Product!

Simply put, it's either you're a fan of the gold or you're not! For those who don't think it's that hot, maybe you find it too flashy, a bit trashy or just too gold. However to many who do like it, it's luxe, classy and has the detail and weight that you won't find with other brands. I personally am a fan, not a huge fan that I 'love' everything about the packaging but I do  like that the gold isn't too yellow!

Also I do love the color band on each bullet that matches the color and finish inside as well as the 'YSL' pattern banding around the tube. The only downside could also be seen as a sign of a more high end product which is that these lipsticks are quite heavy due to the packaging! It's not a huge deal as I would never carry more than one or two around.

First off these go on just as smoothly and as perfectly as the radiant lipsticks from them do. So easy, so moist, so hydrating but not wet and not with the feeling like you need to blot around the lip line for bleeding. The Radiant lipsticks are more like melted butter cream whereas these are like a slick glossy serum. In terms of smell, they have that sweetish slightly floral, slightly powdery scent just like the radiant lipsticks which I don't mind.

Pigmentation and wear are the two main things that set these apart from the Radiant lipsticks. These are easily worn sheerly to a solid medium pigmentation whereas the radiant are opaque easily. The shine formula also doesn't wear as long as the radiant version. The shine however wears off much less obviously but also has a glossy finish that last until it fades after a few hours of wear. Whereas when the radiant lipstick wears off there maybe slight patchiness if you have lips prone to peeling like mine.

The best part is that both formulas do not settle in fine lines. Your lips remain beautifully plump and moist all day long and you don't get any strange cakeiness when you reapply or put on another layer or two! Overall I love this Shine formula. Funny thing is that I didn't realize I had bought both lippies in the Shine formula until I opened them up later!

Both lipsticks are PERFECT for those with sensitive, dry or excessively peeling lips. Mine peel no matter what I use, how much I scrub or how often I use lipbalm. When wearing either of these formulas, my lips stay hydrated, moist, plump and there is almost no peeling or flaking at all at the end of the day!

My bare face and bare lips! I always have slightly dry lips!

Paid: $35 SGD each at Changi Airport's Duty Free (Regular price is $48 SGD or about $36.50 USD)

Recommend: YES. For those ladies with the budget, or want something luxe or need a formula for dry, sensitive or peeling lips...this will be perfect for you! They have a wide range of colors from sheer to opaque and bold so do take a browse!

Repurchase: Yes, I absolutely love these and totally want a purplish/reddish berry shade from them before my hunger rests!

Bottom line: Yve Saint Laurent's Rouge Volupte Shine lipsticks are perfect for those who want a super comfortable, moist lip color that can be worn sheer or built up to a medium opacity. I love how they feel, last and wear off throughout the day unlike regular lipstick formulas!
