Rave review: theBalm Instain Long Wearing Staining Powder Blush!(Houndstooth and Pinstripe)

Instain and in love! For the ladies who also have a die hard love for blushes like me it's always hard to look away or over look new releases of raved off blush products! I would kill to own several tarte blushes and a baked Chanel one too but I'm really trying to control myself. I'd seen these several times at Sasa here in Singapore but held back for weeks and then I couldn't control myself any longer!

I just knew months ago that I would love to own several shades from them! According to other ladies reviews these are meant to be super long wearing, hence the 'stain' in the name and they also come in a few finishes, although all look very pigmented.

Continue below for the review!

Packaging!

Just like their other blush and bronzer products these blushes are packaged in super sturdy hard cardboard compacts. They shut with a strong magnet and have a good medium sized mirror inside that's super handy and is actually big enough for applying blush if needed. The most impressive thing about the packaging for me is the print on them, the exterior cardboard slip off shell is exactly also what is on the actual blush itself.

I really love the details in their packaging, the design, the color scheme, how each blush has a different character on the front and how each blush packaging matches the color of the blush inside! These types of attention to detail to some may seem very obvious but then again many people love the simple black packaging of MAC, ELF, NYX, NARS cosmetics but I love bourjois and thebalm and how they make the design specific to the shade!

As you can see each blushes color of the packaging matches the color of the blush shade inside!

Product!

These blushes are the dream product of any girls who have to be out and about for long hours! If you need make up to last, look natural or make up that lasts through heat and sweat then these will be your solution! Although both of these blushes are different finishes they both are super pigmented. The texture of these blushes are super soft and silky. By using a small round blush brush you can apply a natural pinch of color to a more solid sculpted look.

The shade pinstripe which has a soft matte/satin glowing finish is my perfect everyday/any occasion blush. It gives you the most beautiful glow and looks so natural although I love packing a bit more on than most ladies. I love this rosy strawberry dusty shade, it's still very light and bright with a light hand so it really brightens the complexion!

The shade houndstooth is a very interesting shade. Not something I see often or see other ladies having in their collection. It's a brown toned mauvey purple rose that has a beautiful golden sheen running through the blush. I'm not sure if many light skinned girls would have a liking to this but I find a light amount of this is such an interesting face sculpting shade.

Paid: $36.90 SGD each or about $28.80 USD (purchased at Sasa)

Recommend:Yes! These blushes are pretty much a complete win and rave in my books. Pigmented, soft, silky, long wearing and just a beautiful product worth every dollar!

Repurchase: Maybe, not because I don't love them but because I don't want to own every blush in a range unless they are so damn special. My blush collection is also really big so I don't want it to get out of control!

Bottom line: A super product and a blush that hits all of my expectations for a great blush! I love the color range, you can get a coral, peach, pink, pale pink, mauve and berry from this line! It's a small range but there's a great variety of shades and finishes that all look beautiful on the skin that lasts and look amazing!

Would you like to pick up a shade from this range?
Do you own any blushes from theBalm?
Let me know!

Thank you!

  12. WANT!!! I've been wanting these blushes for the longest time, but I don't know...don't know if I can justify more blush additions (even though I bought a Tarte and NARS blush last week...EEEK!)(And if you ever want some Tarte blushes, why not a swap?? Or have a US/Canadian friend ship them over?? -coughcoughIdon'tmind-)
I don't know why, but for the longest time I thought these were cream blushes. I think it's because 'stain' is in the name. Also, I heard the Bourjois pot blushes were dupes for the Chanel ones...since Bourjois owns Chanel.

  13. Houndstooth is really pretty! I am quite heavy handed when I apply blush and I often end up looking like a clown lol so I tried to not buy blushes that are super pigmented.

  14. You can pull off any blush it seems! I envy your application skills :) I find the regular theBalm blushes aren't all that impressive in terms of lasting power, so these ones seem to be tackling that issue head on.
