Home made beef kway teow noodle and fried rice!

Beef kway teow noodles and fried rice! I don't know about the rest of you but I absolutely love making simple asian dishes at home. I'm really an asian food girl. I like quick cooking, quick prep and fresh flavors which I get from asian stir fries, stews, soups and dishes in general!

Here's my step by step pictorials of how I make beef kway teow noodles and fried rice at home! Feel free to use chicken, seafood or pork for the noodles and any other meat/vegetables for the fried rice!

Continue below for my dishes!
Home made beef kway teow noodles and fried rice!
Fried Rice: I used onions, cabbage, mushroom fishballs, chopped baked chicken meat and frozen mix vegetables! You can use almost any vegetables/meats!
All ingredients should be cooked first on high heat with oil and then removed, the egg cooked alone until a dry scramble and then the rice added in followed by the ingredients back into the frying pan!
I usually use light soya sauce, a dash of fish sauce, some chicken powder, white pepper powder and a dash of sesame oil!
Make sure to fry the rice and egg together long enough until dry! Then after mixing both the ingredients and egg fried rice together, add the seasoningsand mix and toss over high heat!
Serve the fried rice with lettuce and a sprinkle of spring onions!

Beef kway teow noodles!

You will need to fry the rice noodles first in a hot wok or wok shaped non stick pan with some oil. Make sure the pan is very hot and let the noodles sizzle in a bit of oil and toss lightly, letting the noodles cook and get a smokey smell! Remove and set aside!

The marinated thinly sliced beef must be blanched in hot oil for a short while! (my marinade is made of dark soy, sesame oil, white pepper, light soy and oyster sauce)
Set aside until later when the noodles and vegetables are ready!
Next stir fry the vegetables and other ingredients before adding the beef!
Add some water or plain soup stock to the noodles and then thicken with a starch slurry over high heat! Add the rice noodles and toss quickly!

This noodle dish is best eaten with pickled green chilis!
Here's a soy sauce with red chilli and garlic! Great to drizzle over too!
A hot tasty plate of home made beef kway teow! Eat hot and slurp down every bit!

Do you like eating kway teow/asian style noodles?

Thank you so much!

  4. OMG, this looks so good! I love kway teow noodles and don't get to eat them often because my husband is Caucasian and doesn't eat a lot of Asian food. The only thing he wants to eat is Chicken Fried Rice and Lemon Chicken. That's it!
