Review: Lancome la petite collection juicy tubes lip gloss! (limited edition/travel exclusive)

Do you like Lancome...Juicy Tubes!? This was a limited edition set of juicy tubes designed by lancome with collaboration with Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama on the packaging. This set was to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Juicy Tube lip gloss by lancome!

This was my first time trying juicy tube lipglosses and there are pros and cons to this product. I've had this for a while now but only now got around to reviewing this. This set reminds me of the Dior lipgloss la collection which I (reviewed here!)

Continue below for the review and swatches!

Product & packaging!

This has been a very interesting product. The packaging is small, cute and would make a very nice for a gift, or for yourself to test out some easy to wear shades of lipgloss. In terms of design these are simple squeeze tubes, the size makes them great to carry around and I could see this being a gift for young girls. I do adore the packaging on this set, it's cute and adds to the novelty of the set.

The product itself has its pros and cons in my book. I've never tried lancome juicy tubes before and so I thought why not. However I discovered a few things I do like which are the sheer, easy to wear shades. Don't expect pigmented stains, these are great to top off lipstains, lipsticks or a slick on their own. They smell very yummy, like candy and sugar and these are so glossy!

Unfortunately with all the ease and draws with this product, I rarely touch or use these. I find using any type of gloss on my lips to be troublesome as my lips tend to peel in little bits over the day and anything sticky or balmy will be rubbed off with tissue at some point to remove the peeling skin. The gloss can be quite sticky after some time on the lips which is good if you don't want it bleeding. I also have quite long hair and anything getting my hair messy, let alone messing my lip make up bothers me!

I've since given a few to my best friend who loves using gloss, and it suits her! The two that I still have now I plan to try using on days my lips aren't as dry because they are real nice.

Paid: I think about $50 SGD @ Singapore Airport ($41 USD)

Recommend: Great for a gift or anyone who loves sheer lipgloss or juicy tubes. Not for those who want pigment.

Repurchase: Not unless I find a shade I'm crazy about, I can't stand any lipglosses at the moment!

Bottom line: Sheer, smelling yummy, cute and easy to carry around...unless you're very much into juicy tubes or sheer lipgloss I wouldn't bother picking these up.

I much prefer the Dior la lipgloss collection set, they are so pigmented, smooth and classy even in such small tubes. I reviewed the set (here!)

I'm not a fan of sheer lip gloss, but I agree with you that they're great for gift! ;)

    1. Yep, too sheer, I'd rather a sheer balm than gloss unless it's strictly for layering! :)

  4. I love Lancome. But I mostly use Lancome's skincare. These lippies look delicious.

  6. these lip glosses look really cute! But unfortunately I‘m not much of a gloss girl so I wont be purchasing a set like this. lol I hate how my hair sticks to my lips and gets all gross! I also have the same issue of peeling lips when i apply lipgloss, which is super unattractive :S

  9. The colours are really pretty and the packaging is so cute! The set would definitely make a lovely gift. But I'm with you in that I rarely go for lip gloss - I always find them uncomfortable on the lips and a total nuisance when it comes to getting my hair stuck on my lips when they have lip gloss on them!

  10. I have a love hate relationship with juicy tubes. First of all the colours look so pretty, but until you put it on it's very sheer and also...this is a very sticky formula.

    1. Too cute eh?! Sometimes they feel moisturizing, but most of the time for me they get sticky when they dry on your lips!

  12. Back in my gloss days (which was way way back btw), I loved Lancome juicy tubes! But like you say, they are quite sheer. I love how cute these look though!
