Rave Review: Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush in 3 shades (33, 95, 74)

Blush! Oh what a glorious product!

How a quick flush of color can really wake up the face and look fresh. We've all probably heard of Bourjois's pot blushes. I've got three and love them!

The brush included is dense but the bristles are a bit too soft.

Nice fan shape, although I don't use it for applying blush the way I like it.

Dense looking but very filmsy, they don't 'break' into the hard surface of the blushes well

I never thought I'd really enjoy matte blushes but this one surprisingly is lovely. As long as my foundation is on evenly, a sweep of this with a touch of highlight looks so incredibly fresh and natural. This shade would work from fair to darker skin tones.

I have yet to personally use this but it's a true peachy pink toned coral with lots of golden shimmer. I'm afraid the shimmer maybe a bit much but I think with a light hand it should be brilliant. I got this for my mom who has a more yellow and tan complexion.

My favorite of the three, this shade is a lighter rose pink with a beautiful luminous satin finish. I usually pack more of this color on because it's lighter. It really adds a glow to the cheeks, this would be best on fairer skin but should turn up as a light sheen on medium to darker complexions.

Packaging & Product!

First off I am a huge fan of the vintage type looking packaging of their eyeshadow and blushes. They are really sturdy even though it's the click and close type, I like how the product is dense and small, hence easy to carry around.

The size of the mirror isn't actually the best for applying blush but good for discrete checking. The fan brush included I don't use for the blush at all, its nice and soft but it's not made well enough for application. The little tip sheet included is a nice touch, it's not something I expected to get.

The most interesting part of the packaging is how the color and finish of the packaging matches the blush on the inside. If the blush is matte, so is the plastic on the outside, if the blush is shimmer, the packaging has a shiny finish with shimmer!

In terms of product these blushes are baked and are very silky and fine.  I love the matte and satin finishes very much, both Rose Ambre and Rose de Jaspe my 'go to' blushes for everyday and night outs. These shades are very easy to wear and look so fresh on the cheeks.  As a sister brand of chanel they also have a strong flowery powdery scent which I like, they round pots are also similar to the traditional rounded shape of chanel blush.

I like using a thick, dense brush, small or medium sized to rub against and 'break' into the blush before making rounds from the top of my cheeks to my hair line. I always apply blush this way, it slims the face and doesn't add any more 'pinkness' to the nose-mouth region which I tend to conceal.

Note: I bought Rose Ambre in Singapore ($20.90 UP) and the other shades on holiday in cambodia for ($9 USD)

Paid: $20.90 SGD  ($16.80 USD) in Singapore/ $9 USD in Cambodia

Recommend: Yes, completely they are pigmented, convenient and come in very wearable shades and finishes!

Repurchase: I've totally got my eye on Sienne (light brown) for contouring! And lune d'or (light satin neutral) for the cheekbone area.

Bottom line: Bourjois products are just a bit more expensive than regular drugstore products here but aren't far off. I love the variety of finishes in the blush range and think many people would enjoy them.

Do you own any Bourjois blushes?
What shades do you fancy?
 like the packaging?

 let me know!

  1. oh blushes!!! I've never tried any bourjouis products. because they're not available here in germany and can be purchased only through asos.
I agree that bourjouis is a bit on the expensive side for drugstore products, but I heard a lot of good things about bourjouis. esp the foundation

    1. Aww, darn! Blushes are definitely worth it! No, I haven't tried their foundation yet! But Healthy mix is definitely the next thing I've got on my list! Many girls my complexion have had great success so I'm hoping I love it too! It's pricey at about $30 something dollars here at the drugstore! x.x

  9. Thanks for the lovely comment on my blog, it made my day! ha :)

I have a few Bourjois blushes too and they're fantastic little things - great drugstore products. Bourjois are a little more expensive than the average here, but I always buy when the brand's on sale. Lilas D'Or seems to be a popular one, it's so pretty and multitonal! xx

  11. Agreed, Bourjois blushes are awesome. I only have one (#34), but it’s pretty much my go-to everyday blush. I’ve not tried their matte shades though. The mirror is a tad on the small size, so not really ideal for using to actually apply your blush, and I dispensed with the little brush included (it’s cute, but not exactly useful). The product itself so really good quality and I reckon it’ll last me ages!

    1. Completely agree with your opinions! The mirror is a bit too small, brush a bit useless but they are great and should last for a while! :)

  14. I love the Bourjois' range because everything smells so nice. I have that blush in 04 or 05 I forget the name but its more of a brownish red colour but my sister has it in 33 lilys d'ore which I think is really cute. I hate the brush that comes with it though cause it really hurts my skin. Love the review!!! xxx
