Quick look: L'oreal color appeal eyeshadow quad in Summer Caresses (swatches!)

Just a quick look at something my mom bought maybe 2 years ago now! Totally discontinued, no where to be found in Singapore anymore as most things in permanent lines in the US/Canada or Aus. This quad was from the Color Appeal line and has some easy to use shades!

 A small mirror and sponge applicator is included...I really find the small mirror better than nothing!

You're getting a bit more than 1.1 grams worth of each color...not bad.

Swatched without primer, they are quite pigmented...the cream and brown have a lovely golden sheen to them.

Milk chocolate & guava pink

Milk chocolate is a mid tone brown with golden shimmer, it's really lovely alone on the lids, my favorite color of the four.

Guava pink is a satin finish baby pink, a bit powdery it would work under the brow bone or as a blending shade.

Nylon & passionate juice

Nylon could easily be a dupe for some mac eyeshadow (none of the names i can remember), it's a creamy almost slightly iredescent white that would be great for inner corners and under the eyebrows.

Passionate juice is my least favorite color, simply because orange does not flatter me, it's my mother's favorite though. Semi matte, it's a solid medium orange.

Packaging & Product!

Simple sturdy packaging, the addition of the small mirror is better than none. The colors really are not anything that special, although they are fitting for summer. The brown is very versatile and so are the pink and highlight shades. I guess this quad would work on a variety of skin tones although the orange maybe tricky for asian girls who are very pale or have heavier yellow tones.


I think this would be nice for something starting out as the colors are relatively friendly although I'm not a fan of the boring highlight an pink shade. I'm only interested in the brown 'milk chocolate' shade which is gorgeous.
